This review is from: Fueling the Future: How the Battle Over Energy Is Changing Everything (Paperback)
Heintzman and Solomon do an excellent job of collecting some of the most readable and compelling essays on the future of energy. Each essay leads into the next; for example, one writer talks about the benefits of nuclear, and the second begins with why nuclear can't be sustained and goes on to make a case for hydro, etc etc. Very well done, the perfect read for someone curious about the energy crisis but lacking a science background to hunt down readable articles.
The only downside here is that the book is Canadian, meaning the writers focus on energy's impacts in Canada, which is slightly different from the effects in the US. Yes, the concepts are the same, but reading "a new research center has opened in Vancouver" once in a while jars me back to the reality that the US is sadly lacking in energy progress initiatives. Oh well, oh Canada. Two thumbs up! |
