5.0 out of 5 stars This band never got the respect they deserved., September 16, 2004

Spooner is one of the bands that I've listened to my whole life, and it's very sad that hardly anyone in the world has heard of them. If you're familiar with the band Garbage, Spooner is one of the bands that Garbage members Butch Vig and Doug (Duke) Erickson played in. I like Garbage, but Spooner was 10 times better. They did three albums, "Wildest Dreams", "Every Corner Dance", and "Fugitive Dance". Butch and Doug also played in a band called Fire Town and released 2 albums, "The Good Life", and "Heart Country". Out of all 5 of these albums, there is not one bad song! I urge everyone to buy these albums. Search Ebay, buy all of them, you won't be dissappointed! Spooner rocks!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great disk, January 26, 2012

Just got in the mail. Awesome disk. You can see why this guys are still around today. And a huge impact on the music scene still. Suprised that Duke doesn't do some duets with Shriley on some songs. Great sound like some older R.E.M. and T-Rex. With a hit of the Clash to it. Great have for any Garbage buff.

4.0 out of 5 stars This is the band that Butch and Duke should have hit the big time with, August 13, 2006

Anyone who spent time in Madison in the 90's likely had the pleasure of listening to Spooner in their many gigs on the Terrace and around town. This band was Madison's "Dave Matthews" equivalent. They really cooked live, and unfortunately that energy doesn't come across in this recording. The songs are innovative and great, but the recording is a bit flat. But the songs do shine through the bad recording. In particular, "Headlights On the Grass" is poppy and eerie at the same time -- amazingly evocative for a pop song.

In summary, a band that should have done much better than it did.
