This review is from: Fugitive Vol.14: Other Side of Coin & The One that Got Away [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Despite the general high quality of THE FUGITIVE, there were still many individual episodes that showed a lack of creative spark. Many of these poorly scripted episodes came in the fourth season when a combination of a switch from black and white to color, which reduced the effect that stark and somber hues generated, plus an unfortunate change in writers caused the series to emphasize mindless action at the expense of the show's original strong point--powerful human drama caused by carefully delineated characters in conflict with one another. In THE OTHER SIDE OF THE COIN, we see Kimble do little more than run from the scene of a crime in which the criminal manages to lay suspicion on Kimble. Kimble as Jim Parker works in a store that is robbed by the son of the local sheriff. The conflict lies in the son (Beau Bridges) being wounded and only Kimble can help. The sheriff makes a deal. If Kimble saves the boy, the sheriff will let him go. This kind of plot tells us nothing new about Kimble, the night of the murder, Gerard, or about people in general. This video is of interest only to those who want as complete a collection of the Kimble saga as possible.
