The A900 incorporates Fujifilm’s signature Super CCD sensor technology with 9.3 megapixels, a 4x optical zoom lens and feature ISO levels of up to 800.

Following in the footsteps of Fujifilm’s more advanced digital cameras, the FinePix A900 shoots with light sensitivities of up to ISO 800 at full resolution. These higher light sensitivities enable the user to shoot with faster shutter speeds, which lessen the likelihood of blurry pictures caused by a moving subject or the shake of an unsteady hand. To make it easy for consumers to achieve blur-free results, the FinePix A900 features a Picture Stabilization mode in the dial setting. This easy-to-identify setting automatically chooses the correct light sensitivity and best-matching shutter speed, producing the highest quality digital pictures without blur and the noise often associated with high sensitivity photographs.

The FinePix A900 also features a new, intuitive icon-based Graphic User Interface (GUI). When users switch shooting modes, scene positions or control settings, a brief explanation of the setting is momentarily displayed on the LCD screen, taking much of the guess work out of digital camera operation. Additionally, the camera features a conveniently placed mode dial that provides easy access to the most commonly used shooting modes, including Auto, Picture Stabilization and Movie modem and allows 1-touch access to other pre-programmed scene modes.

Another great feature of the FinePix A900 is the new xD/SD/SD-HC Media Compatible slot; which accepts not only Fujifilm’s traditional xD-Picture Cards, but also Secure Digital (SD) and Secure Digital-High Capacity (SD-HC) media cards. In offering these media options, Fujifilm is providing greater choice and flexibility to consumers who purchase Fujifilm digital cameras.

This is a great camera for beginner or non experienced camera people. This was my third camera. The other two are cannon SD300 and the A540. After having the experience of using these great cameras and being able to change all the settings to be just perfect it was a slight let down. Everything else about the camera was great. It has wonderful auto settings. One thing that I do find annoying is that you can't view the pictures in a loop, if you want to see the first picture you took on the SD card you have to go backwards through all the other pictures. The quality is wonderful; it said that you can have a good looking print up to 17x23. The video is much better quality on the SD300. Overall this would be a great camera for almost anyone but the most advanced user, but even they would appreciate this camera for quality and the fact that it is hundreds of dollars cheaper than others of the same quality.

Fuji really did a nice job in making the e-900 into the something more user friendly A-900. I love the visual instructions on the screen that tells you the mode, it makes it quicker, theres manual mode, and the low light shooting is very impressive. Picures in dark shade or at dusk come out as good as if they were in the bright light Its very light and compact, and so nice that it takes AA batteries and SD card. Its a great deal for the price.

The 'Fuji A900' 9MP camera is a LOT of camera for the money, and it's truly amazing how much camera money can buy these days (compared to yesteryear). Having used this camera extensively, I wish to say that this camera does everything it's expected to very well. The pictures are clear with great resolution in both 'auto' and 'manual' modes, and colors are true and accurate. The 'A900' is easy and intuitive to use, and you can be up and running in 3 minutes with the 'easy start' sheet that comes with the unit. 'Auto mode' works great, and there are enough manual settings to please the intermediate, or more experienced cam user too. You also get a 4x optical zoom, compared to 3x with most other similar price range cameras. Especially cool is the little but unassuming informational blurbs that pop onto the LCD screen at times explaining settings and camera functions! This is like having your own camera tutor or expert by your side, if you need it. Amazing! Ergonomically, the camera is just the right size, shape, and weight, and feels very nice in my hands. All in all, as a stickler for quality, and a camera/photograph afficionado, i've got to say this is one truly EXCELLENT camera, and a 'steal' considering what it sells for!
