Battery Life: The battery lasts a very long time! I had it running videos for hours and it still had a lot of juice left. I think you are easily going to pull 4-8 hours out of this machine (4 hours on constant installs or videos; 8 hours of surfing the web at 50% brightness - which is still extremely bright)
Performance: Yes, the specs tell a grim story, and on top of that the Windows Experiences are as follows:
Graphics: 2.9 <-- Update July 7 2012. New Driver makes this now 4.1
Gaming Graphics: 3.0
Primary Hard Disk: 5.9
The point I think a lot of people are missing, is this is a fanless system (I think it is?!) and the processor had to be a bit slower. When the processor is in charge of running your videos via .AVI files or FLASH, there is chopiness, BUT what no youtube videos show is that when you bring it to full screen, it runs smoothly! That means for instance that using VLC I get perfect video. When using Xfinity.com or HBOGO at fullscreen, I get smooth video. The best part is the HDMI which replicates this on my TV. I have a bluetooth mini keyboard/touchpad, and I have a full AV system up and running.
I had no issues with the writing, and it seemed responsive and smooth.
I bought the folio, and it works very well and holds the pen..... the downside is that it doesn't fit in the cradle with the folio, so you have to pull it out, which seems easy enough.Read more ›
One day I was possessed to buy a tablet. I think what drove this impulse home was because I just got my tax refund. But currently I carry an HP laptop around with me and its bulky and tiring to use (pull out of bag, insert power cord, open up top, ouch its burning my lap!) not to mention that little box where you drag your fingers around called a mousepad.
I had made an uniformed and slightly impulsive buy of a Samsung 7 inch tablet with a good price and great warranty features at Costco. But something told me to keep shopping around. I did miss the biggest deal of my life at Staples... an ASUS w/Windows RT and keyboard for $98!!! All units were sold out. So I bought this instead.
Mind you, my desktop PC is over 8 years old... I'm not the technological savvy person at all and furthermore, it doesn't take much to excite me with the technology of an 8+ year old Dell desktop (takes a licking and keeps on ticking). I've seen all these people paying a lot of money for an iPad, etc... but what I know, most computers on the market now don't last longer than 2 years especially if a virus hasn't killed it yet. Also, after educating myself on tablets, if I was going to pay more than $60 I want something that I can easily do real work with, so no Android or Windows RT for me... I wanted a real operating system (Windows Pro). When I saw the Fujitsu on Amazon and all of the mixed reviews... I was mixed in purchasing it but at the price it is now, I couldn't really lose.Read more ›
