6-LED MultiFex Clip-On Work Light

Experience the convenience of a hands-free light--right where you need it--with this Fulcrum 20019-301 clip-on work light. Clip the portable light to the edge of a desk when paying bills, a work station when fixing things or working on hobbies, a kitchen counter for extra light over the cookbook, or a barbecue to make sure the kabobs and summer veggies grill to perfection.

The versatile, battery-operated light means fast, easily accessible light for the task at hand--no cumbersome cord or need for an outlet.

Convenient, Durable Design

Made from impact-resistant ABS plastic, the ruggedly built work light features a strong articulating clamp that securely attaches to a variety of surfaces, a durable bounce-free metal gooseneck that can be adjusted as needed, and six energy-efficient LEDs that never need to be replaced for super-bright long-lasting illumination. Even more, the LEDs offer floodlight-style illumination for more light and broader coverage than other multi-LED work lights.

LED Floodlight Technology

Better than Ordinary LED

LED floodlight technology is a blend of special LED and lens technologies that create enhanced and more useable light. Ordinary LEDs emit a highly concentrated beam of light and illuminate only a small area. They also provide very little ambient light--the area outside of the beam is dark. Ordinary LEDs also emit a "hot" light, which produces glare and can cause eye-strain.

LED floodlight technology, the next generation of lighting technology, offers a smarter choice. It delivers an ultra-wide beam of bright, glare-free light, so you can see more. It also provides even and balanced illumination over a wide area, so you can see better and more comfortably--no more eyestrain or discomfort.

In addition, the LEDs never need to be replaced, and they use only 10% of the energy compared to a conventional light bulb, which ultimately translates to fewer batteries in landfills and more money in your pocket.

Perfect for home or office--or to take along when camping, the clip-on LED work light offers a sleek, attractive design and requires three AA batteries (sold separately).

Highlights

  • LED Floodlight Technology: super-bright, glare-free, ultra-wide coverage
  • 6 "Floodlight" LEDs: provide more light and broader coverage than other multi-LED work lights
  • Heavy-Duty Clamp: wide mouth, articulating clamp attaches securely on uneven surfaces
  • Metal Flex Neck: adjusts instantly to aim light; doesn't "bounce" or move
  • Durable Construction: made from impact-resistant ABS plastic
  • Multiple Uses: great for BBQ, work bench, home or office--makes a great camp light
  • Attractive: sleek, elegant design
  • Energy-Efficient LEDs: extend battery life; never need replacement
  • Batteries: uses 3 AA batteries (sold separately)

Gives bright light for the whole grill area.

The clips secures nicely, tight enough to clamp well, and large enough to attach to a large shelf.

I think the previous reviewer thought this was a book light...it's actually a rugged, 6 LED clamp-on BBQ light that illuminates the grill on the darkest of nights! It can also double as a work light in the garage, a desk lamp in the office - even a great light to take camping and clamp-onto the picnic table for a late night of playing cards. Totally flexible neck allows the light to shine anywhere. You won't be disappointed with the versatility and brightness of this product!

I've been using this light for the last month on my outdoor bbq and so far it's been great. More than enough light and it easily clips onto the side shelf. When not in use I store it under the grill cover. For the money it's a great deal.

This is the only battery powered book light that actually gives enough light to see both pages of a book or magazine when open. Also, operates on AA batteries which are less expensive and easier to get than the button type batteries that the other book lights require.

I have bought a couple of LED worklights. They are handy for seeing under sinks, tables and hard to reach places like behind filing cabinets when you're dealing with electrical cords. LED are energy efficient and batteries will last longer than other types of lights. Also, LEDs run cooler so you won't burn yourself.

What makes this Fulcrum task light special is the big clip and gooseneck. It was originally marketed as a BBQ light, but I mostly use it for inside the house. I like that it illuminates an area evenly across the entire circle for better visibility. i.e. doesn't have a hot spot.

PROS:
- Handy clip to secure to various surfaces.
- Gooseneck to position the light wherever you want it to illuminate.
- Even illumination... no hot spot.
- LEDs are energy efficient and batteries will last longer

CONS:
- None so far

TIP:
- I cut a 4" x 10" piece of foam or rubber gripper type of material and place it between the clamp and surface. This does two things... protects the surface from scratches and prevents the light from slipping, especially when mounted on a vertical edge.

Here's an example of a shelf liner that would work... Duck 1100731 Non-Adhesive Select Easy Shelf Liner, Jumbo Roll, 12-Inch Wide, 20-Square-Feet, Taupe

I love this little light. It illuminates a funny built-in computer console that also happens to house our land-line phone. Most importantly, we need a battery operated light as we that before mentioned phone to dial the electric company with during power-outages. We are super rural so we have lots of outages and our cell phones don't get reception here!!!

I tried to find the battery requirements prior to receiving the product with no success.... so I'm posting here in case anyone else is looking. *****3-AA Batteries******

On another note, I disagree with previous reviews that feel the clamp is weak, I have mine clamped to a 1" thick shelf and it is VERY secure.

I actually use these to clip onto my kids beds as well as my wifes and mine. The neck is very flexible, you can get the head in just about any position with some patience and thought. The light puts off plenty of light to read by. Batteries seem to last an adequate amount of time. These are perfect for areas where you don't want a cord drapped all over the place. I had halogen lamps with cords before these and they were extremely HOT and dangerous. The heat on these is very minor. I feel like these would be safe left on all night.

The clip and the actually light are bigger than I wanted, but they are still not TOO big. The nice thing if you don't like the look, just unclip and put in drawer or under the bed. I bought one to try and now I have 7 more. We have found tons of uses for these, because they are so portable.

I bought this clip light to replace an CFL clip light which fell and shuttered in a million small pieces (plus Mercury). I decided that an LED light will be safer to have in this tight busy area and the description made me think it should be bright enough. However the light it generates is not very bright if compared with CFL lights, and the beam is very narrow with a very sharp edge.

I am attaching a collage of 6 photos numbered 1 through 6 that I will be referencing in this review. Photos are located by following "customer images" link under the stock photo at the top of the main product page.

Photo #1 shows the lamp on gridded mat for size reference. The lamp is fairly large. When I was buying the lamp, it was difficult to tell the relative size of lamp from the stock photo. I thought it would be slightly larger than my Mighty Bright Black Xtraflex clip light, so I am showing them together in Photo #5. This lamp is much larger!

The lamp's goose neck is 20 inches long. The clip is 7" long and 2.5" wide. Photo #3 has a close up of the clip. The slip can open as wide as 3.5". The lamp shade is 4.5" long and 3.25" wide. It has one large button to turn it on and off, it has one light setting. Photo #2 shows a closeup of the lamp shade. It has 6 bulbs. Photo #4 shows the bulbs, you see that it has 2 larger bulbs, and 4 smaller bulbs.

Photo #6 shows the light the lamp is producing in a darkened room. For comparison I turned on the Mighty Bright Black Xtraflex light as well. The Fulcrum lamp generates is brighter than the Xtraflex booklight. The photo shows the spot light with hard edges that this light generates. Even in the spot light this lamp is much dimmer than what I used to get from 60 watt CFL light.
