5.0 out of 5 stars Super Bright BBQ or Task Light
I think the previous reviewer thought this was a book light...it's actually a rugged, 6 LED clamp-on BBQ light that illuminates the grill on the darkest of nights! It can also double as a work light in the garage, a desk lamp in the office - even a great light to take camping and clamp-onto the picnic table for a late night of playing cards. Totally flexible neck allows...

1.0 out of 5 stars BBQ Light that can't be near heat or moisture
I purchased this after reading the reviews. Upon receipt I was very disappointed in the quality and after reading the instructions highly disappointed. The instructions state that heat will damage it and do not put near grilling surfaces. The unit is not moisture proof and water will damage it. So I have a light on my grill but I must bring it in after using it. Does...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for the BBQ, April 21, 2008

I've been using this light for the last month on my outdoor bbq and so far it's been great. More than enough light and it easily clips onto the side shelf. When not in use I store it under the grill cover. For the money it's a great deal.

This is the only battery powered book light that actually gives enough light to see both pages of a book or magazine when open. Also, operates on AA batteries which are less expensive and easier to get than the button type batteries that the other book lights require.

5.0 out of 5 stars ***Requires 3-AA Batteries***, July 25, 2011

I love this little light. It illuminates a funny built-in computer console that also happens to house our land-line phone. Most importantly, we need a battery operated light as we that before mentioned phone to dial the electric company with during power-outages. We are super rural so we have lots of outages and our cell phones don't get reception here!!!

I tried to find the battery requirements prior to receiving the product with no success.... so I'm posting here in case anyone else is looking. *****3-AA Batteries******

On another note, I disagree with previous reviews that feel the clamp is weak, I have mine clamped to a 1" thick shelf and it is VERY secure.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great battery powered light for reading in bed, November 30, 2010

I actually use these to clip onto my kids beds as well as my wifes and mine. The neck is very flexible, you can get the head in just about any position with some patience and thought. The light puts off plenty of light to read by. Batteries seem to last an adequate amount of time. These are perfect for areas where you don't want a cord drapped all over the place. I had halogen lamps with cords before these and they were extremely HOT and dangerous. The heat on these is very minor. I feel like these would be safe left on all night.

The clip and the actually light are bigger than I wanted, but they are still not TOO big. The nice thing if you don't like the look, just unclip and put in drawer or under the bed. I bought one to try and now I have 7 more. We have found tons of uses for these, because they are so portable.

The instructions state that heat will damage it and do not put near grilling surfaces. The unit is not moisture proof and water will damage it. 1.0 out of 5 stars Light? What light?, November 11, 2011

I am very disappointed with this lamp. Yes, the design is sleek. Yes,it is nice for it to be cordless. But those are the only two positive things I have to say. The clamp is very bulky which makes it hard for me to clip it to the edge of the desk where I intended to use it. And the light it casts? What light? This is advertised as a BRIGHT light, but I would say the manufacturer needs to go back and reread the meaning of bright in the dictionary. No truth in advertising here. This is now the dimmest light in my house, just barely casting a dismal pool of blue-ish light on the desk where I am trying to use it. I will probably give this away. Or sell it in a yard sale. My money was wasted.

This light is working out great for my home office workspace near my computer. I'm using it to light up my copy stand where I place my steno pad for transcription. I was surprised that the light clamps easily on to the front edge of my desk, which is about 3" thick. No problem! The gooseneck is very flexible and can be adjusted to any position imagineable. It doesn't take up much space; and, without obstructing my view of my monitor, it's an ideal solution to my over-crowded desk where I also have 2 printers and file racks sitting beneath my desk hutch. With new batteries, the light is nice and bright. As the batteries die down over time, the light gets dimmer and dimmer. My first set of batteries lasted about 4 weeks before needing replacing, so I'm switching over to rechargeables to see if they'll last longer. Overall, I'm very pleased with my purchase. I'm quite impressed with its versatility. It would work just about anywhere you need more light because of the unique design of the clamp.

I bought this from Amazon recently for my Genesis Silver propane grill. It clamps on easily, stays in place and provides more than enough light. I also like that it uses AA batteries. The neck bends so you can direct it however you like. I can recommend without reservation.

This is a wonderful light. I needed it to light a dark corner at church by the piano and this is perfect! Great light! The clip is good and sturdy!
