5.0 out of 5 stars Smoothjazz.com Review, September 15, 2005
By
This review is from: Full Circle (Audio CD)
This one's hot stuff...no question about it. Sax man Andre Delano scores big with his debut solo album, FULL CIRCLE, and when Dave Koz was recently quoted as saying, "He is the real deal...a wonderful talent with an over-abundance of soul, passion, and musicality," Koz is right on the money! Delano's playing is vibrant, dynamic, and compellingly soulful. The production values on this disc are killer. Andre's tunes (all originals) are strong and memorable. What's not to like about this one? The first single, "Night Riders" is a hit, the second single, "Foot Steps," will follow the first one right up the charts, and there's more after that. I personally think "Jadon Smiles," a tribute to his son, is an amazing piece of music, full of love and passion. Andre's got great vocal chops, too, as you'll plainly hear on the title track. It's very cool to put a first effort from a new Smooth Jazz solo artist in the player and hear this kind of maturity and savvy! The St. Louis native has an impressive resume that includes recording and touring with the likes of Stevie Wonder, Maxwell, Jeff Lorber, Chieli Minucci, Doc Powell, and Bobby Lyle. With that kind of experience and exposure, it was time for a solo career, and FULL CIRCLE is one stunning debut! I have a prediction, and I feel very certain about it: Andre Delano's going to be hot stuff on Smooth Jazz play lists for a long, long time! ~Scott O'Brien

5.0 out of 5 stars He got it done, July 31, 2005
This review is from: Full Circle (Audio CD)
This is his debut and he got it done right. This is a classy, entertaining smooth jazz cd. The smooth sexy sax and the few vocals are right on time. This guy should be around for a very long time. Some of the cuts will have you staring off into space and some will have you hand dancing either by yourself or with your partner. Congradulations to Andre for a fine cd. You can't go wrong with this one. Check it out!!!! Seriously!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A funky and soulful debut!, October 26, 2005
This review is from: Full Circle (Audio CD)
This is an incredible album. I saw Andre perform alongside Kevin Toney at the Riverside Jazz Festival a few weeks ago and immediatley picked up the CD. His album definitely lives up to his live show. The album kicks off with the aptly titles "Funkborne" which recalls the best 70s funk vibe and doesn't let up from there. Andre nicely displays his vocal talents on the title track which should be a hit on radio! Not only is he a talented saxophone player but all of the musicians he plays with are top notch. The production is excellent as well. This is a first rate release which I would recommend to any fan of modern jazz, funk and soul. You will not be disappointed!

Wow! I was blown away. This man's got serious talent, and it shows. He has beautiful vocals and the smoothest sax since Boney James. It was so refreshing to hear all new songs...not just remakes of other people's music. I can listen to the entire cd without skipping a track! I highly recommend this cd.

5.0 out of 5 stars Smooth Groove, October 19, 2010
This review is from: Full Circle (Audio CD)
This cd gives a whole new meaning to deep down soulful jazz.Every song has it's own way of keeping you captivated within its groove. This is the second cd I have purchased from him and can hardly wait for the new one! I resently was parked in a parking lot waiting for someone when I noticed a crowd of people that gathered around my car to listen, eventually they started asking who he was. Now that is a sign of good music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome cd, September 5, 2007
This review is from: Full Circle (Audio CD)
Songs that stood out on Andre,s cd were 2-4 6-8 & 10 & 11. The other songs not mentioned were out of place with the rest of the cd in other words they were just fair. Id buy this cd on song tracks mentioned any day of the week. Id love to see him get together with heavy wieghts David Benoit, Bob James, Harvy Mason, Peter white George Benson, Marc anotione & Earl Klugh that be a awesome CD.

I just saw Andre at his al mater, Jackson State, in Jackson MS, and he blew me away. Awesome talent, great music and he's got stage presence. Wow! Look for him to be one of the top 5 sax men in the next couple of years. And he can SING (title track).
