Arguably the most practical, applicable, and enjoyable book I have read on church planting. It cuts through all the crap and gets to the land-minds that many planters overlook.

This book is written by two experienced church planters who open their struggles and failures as they led their church plants. Each chapter in this book is starts with a F-word. Example - Faith, Family, Fidelity, Facilities, etc. At the end of each chapter are some very tangible and personal questions for a planter to ask himself.

As I venture off to plant, I will be referencing this book often to make sure that none of the F-words mentioned in this book catches me off guard.

I love this book! It was so practical and so helpful. It's great to see how open Barry and Stephen were about their own mistakes and victories. It's great to know that others have gone before and paved the way in this adventure of church planting. This book is very good to help us whose heart is to start a church. I have told all my friends to read this book, and I highly recommend it.

If you are a church planter - or involved at any point in a church plant - you must read this book. Stephen and Barry share so many personal stories you begin to cheer for them and certainly mourn for them...stink, sometimes you even laugh at them. But their mistakes WILL help you. Take for example - "The best gift you can give your church plant is a spiritually and emotionally healthy heart, mind, and family. This is easy for most people to write, but when you know they have faced the temptation of work-aholism it means so much more.
No matter they type or style or location of your church plant, there are tid-bits of wisdom that you can gleam.
