5.0 out of 5 stars One of the Best of late 20th Century, January 13, 2000
By A Customer
I'd say there are 20 or 30 records/CDs from 1964 till now that are so memorable that I still hear them in my head. Full Flower is one. Mikhal has written songs with spirit, intelligence, and heart. Kudos to Ms. Shapiro for a stellar CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Delightful Singer/Songwriter Set, November 18, 1999
By A Customer
A delightful set from a singer/songwriter who is both pop-infused and tradition-informed. Except for two strikingly intimate duo tracks, the band's foundation is fusion-laced guitar, bass, and drums, yet liberal application of acoustic mandolin (played most notably by the Nashville sideman Gary Oleyar) give a genuine and approachable feel to the project.

It's interesting that the artist in question has gone on to a career as producer and journalist of World Music. Artistically reared in an urban environment, where roots from different distances constantly meld, she made an album which is entirely close to home.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great songs, great singing and smart lyrics!, September 18, 1999
By A Customer
There are some really great songs on this CD and I really like the melodies. But once I stopped humming the tunes, I started listening to the words and I found that they were poetic and meaningful. There are many musical styles going from song to song, but somehow it all sounds like the same artist. I was really pleasantly surprised and I play the CD a lot.
