The actual shield I received did not match the one shown in the stock photo. I have uploaded some pictures that I took for comparison. The are numerous differences from the actual shield than what is shown in the product image. First, the triforce does not match, it has an odd red outline painted around the triangles and is missing the 'metal' rim around it. The 'metal' adornments shown on the bottom of the shield are missing. The large 'bolts' shown along the shield's rim are also different, being really small and more numerous. Aside from cosmetic differences, the shield also did not include the metal wall mount shown on the back of the shield, so I cannot hang this on my wall as intended.

Other faults of this shield as mentioned in other reviews are the strap and handle on the back. The two connectors that the handle attaches to were not aligned properly on my shield so the handle is now crooked and not held in as well as it should be. The strap included is terrible and consists of 2 separate pieces of velcro. These are only to be held on with little bent clips that are not at all secured to the shield in any way, and do not stay on. To remedy this, I took advice from another review and just threaded some twine through the 2 connectors and it seems to hold pretty securely now.

The only thing saving this shield from a 1 star review from me is the fact that the paint job on my shield is really nicely done. It might not match the shield in the picture, but it looks really nice in itself. Also, the red dragon symbol looks a lot more accurate to the game than what is shown. If you aren't looking for an exact replica, and just want a nice looking shield, this is probably the best deal out there. However, just know that you aren't getting what is shown in the picture.

I got this shield as a present for a friend and the first shield I got was very disappointing. It wasn't even complete painted and the craftsmanship just looked sloppy. I contact the seller and they were quick to reply and helpful and said they would exchange the shield. First they wanted me to pay the full shipping costs and they said they could reimburse me for half but I said that I shouldn't have to pay any more out of pocket because they sent me a sub par shield. Then they sent me a shipping label, I shipped the shield back and about a week later, I got a new shield. The paint job was a bit better but not by a lot. You can see the blue paint through the yellow triforce, the back of the shield is all uneven. Like a someone else said the shield you get, is not the same one in the product picture.

I kept the second shield because it seemed that was as good as it was going to get. I finally gave the shield to my friend and the strap will not stay on and the part where the handle screws into came out. Overall I am very disappointed in the product. The seller was helpful when I contacted them but they are selling a crap product. I wouldn't buy this shield.

Its alright. It is made of some sort of clay and some of the screws in the back stripped out on one of the handles, but I was carrying it around all night at a costume party. The screws for wall mounting seemed way more secure. I would hardly call the painting flawless as the description does, it was good, but not flawless.

First of all - the shield looks fantastic!

I read the other reviews which state that the shield you receive differs from the shield pictured by the seller - but somehow I received the exact shield that was pictured by the seller. Looks like maybe they had a bad batch at some point, not sure.

The paint job is great, it's mass produced so you can't expect 100% perfection, but I think it looks pretty darn good.

Weight is great, actually it's quite heavy. There were other reviews saying the shield is easy to bend - maybe if you're superman...

I'm very happy with it, though it was missing the straps to wear it rather than hang it. I didn't contact the seller regarding this though, so I don't know how responsive they are about missing pieces.

I've constructed my own straps so I'm good to go!

*Note: Link wields his sword left handed so the shield is to be worn on the right, I'm not 100% sure but I think the straps provided are backwards (at least that's what other reviews of this shield model have read). So I was planning on replacing the straps anyways. :)

Item was sturdy and detailed, but the paint was still tacky and stuck to the internal wrapping paper. Holding the item left fingerprints in the paint. Business did issue a full refund, however.

This shield is okay. It has all these little paint bubbles on it's surface, the arm strap doesn't work well, and the shield isn't too accurate to real life ones. The shield is curved like a real one, but the handle and arm strap aren't at the angle that thy are supposed to be at to allow you to carry it. Bottom line: If you are a BIG Zelda fan, love to use and run around with swords and shields, wish they were just like link and actually rebuild Link's entire arsenal homemade, don't buy it. If you like zelda, are not a perfectionist and don't need to run around with this, buy it. over all, it's okay.

Well first of all this is not a real shield and its made in china it looks great but it has no instructions on how to put the grips on it took me about an hour to figure it out you need a hammer and two needle-nose pliers and lots of patience which i don't have i would look for other shields 1st if you want one to use not to be a wall ornament don't get this one im gonna get a different one good luck

There are several reviews warning against purchasing this product, so when I decided to buy the Hylian Shield, I felt like I was rolling the dice and hoping for the best. I could not have been more relieved when I opened the package, revealing its contents to be very impressive (I nearly considered holding it over my head just to see if it would float for a few seconds...dah dah DAH DAAAAAHH!)Seriously, do not worry about this shield not living up to your expectations; its craftsmanship is pleasing to the eye. I will not lie and say the product is flawless. Like many of the other reviews have stated, the straps on the back are lacking in stability; you will probably need to find another way to make it stay on your arm if you are planning on wearing the shield as part of a costume. Something like a belt will work find. Also, it IS only configured for right handed people, so if wearing it on the right arm is just too much for you to cope with, you will also need to reattach the handle to the opposite side. The Triforce on my shield is probably going to need a touch-up paint job, it is a little splotchy, but all those flaws considered, I would STILL recommend this shield to any cosplayer or costumed party-goer planning on dressing as Link. It is worth the money.

Shield came exactly as described. Grip attachment to shield turned out to be a little fragile but otherwise excellent product.

A young friend of mine really wanted the "Full-size Link Hylian Zelda Shield" for Christmas. My son and I went in on it to get it for her. The shield it is made to hang on a wall. The material it is made from is quite heavy making it difficult to carry as a costume piece although it does have the hand-holds to carry it. It is brightly painted and looks close to original design. The young lady it was purchased for is very happy with it.
