A Full Life with Autism is an excellent and easy read for anyone interested in learning more about autism and the real life challenges and successes of everyday life. Too often books are written by "autism experts" who really have no idea what it is like to live with someone with autism, let alone have autism themselves. Chantal and Jeremy did a wonderful job of collaborating to give not only valuable information to readers, but of balancing different viewpoints and perspectives. I love reading Jeremy's thoughts and advice and find it invaluable since it is coming straight from the source. As a young professional working with children with autism, I frequently check back with this book whenever I need a reminder to stay positive and focused in helping my clients be the very best version of themselves possible. Thank you to Jeremy and Chantal for sharing their stories and advice!

As the mother of a high school senior who has autism, I find this book invaluable. I gained insight from each of the chapters - transitioning, community supports, life skills, friendship, dating, living arrangements, support staff, college, and employment. I am currently looking into various programs for future housing, education, and employment possibilities for my son, and everything I'm researching is as a result of what was described in this book. In 1997, when my son was diagnosed, there were few practical books for parents about autism and how to help our children. I stumbled through the first few years, unsure of what to expect for my son's future. I am so glad things have changed and that this book was published right when I needed it!

This book is full of current resources and information a that any parent of a child with autism needs.

I specially enjoyed Jeremy's frank comments about what he wants and what he needs others to understand. Jeremy's explanation of how he perceives the world, what his view of his future is, and what he considers to be a full life for him reinforces my understanding of my duty to be my child's voice, not only to advocate or stand up for him, but to also remember to be his voice even if it means saying no to broccoli, setting up play dates on the most hectic days and requesting 5 more minutes of TV before bed.

Jeremy's view on love and relationships gave me an opportunity to reflect on my own child's current and future emotional/physical needs and the role that I will have to play in order to give him what most teenagers/adults develop naturally.

This is a wonderful book that not only prompts you to reflect on your child, their present life and their future, but also guides you through that process with resources and the experience that only Chantal and Jeremy can offer.

This fantastic read is a must for any family who has a loved one on the Autism Spectrum. The perspective that Jeremy brings to the reader is invaluable. Topics like "Jeremy's Top Ten Tips for Parents on how to help their young adults foster social relationships" are priceless. Together Jeremy and Chantel embrass the journey from teen into adulthood and do it with such grace, stamina and love. If you want a realistic guide to help you assist a student, friend or loved one, this book is for you. If you love someone with Autism, the best gift you could share is to read this remarkable story and give a copy to everyone they know!

No wonder "A Full Life with Autism" won't stay on the shelves; I'm sending copies to my 24-year-old son Ben's care givers, and have no doubt many other parents of adult and near-adult children with ASD are doing the same. If you have any doubt that your child is listening, understanding, and capable of achieving far more than s/he's given credit for, read this book. It's full of information; it's an eye opener and a life-changing motivator, thanks to Chantal and her adult son (and co-author) Jeremy. Bless you both!

Thank you to Chantal and Jeremy for sharing their story on the transition process to adult services with brutal honesty. I especially appreciated Jeremy's perspective on the process and applaud him for speaking up on the frustrations that he experienced as he transitioned to adult services. This book is loaded with valuable information on adult transition and quality of life issues for your loved one with autism. This will be your "go-to" manual for person centered planning.
