Powerful lyrics., July 30, 2003

I'm so excited to see John Sinclair here at all! I will say his vocals are powerful, using the high to low crooning of 'beat speak'... but beyond the powerful sounds lay prevoking stories of early blues and jazz greats. I managed to see him in Ann Arbor in 1998 at a blues and jazz festival with Ed Moss, after which I rushed over to School Kids Records to buy the album... I hadn't heard anything as crass and as educated as Brukowski (and with the benifit of interesting tibits about jazz and blues greats we all are familiar with) put to music before. What a good deal to see this here.
