im not a sword enthusiast as most that purchase this type of item are; however i got it as part of a combat kit i keep for emergencies, and i must admit this was a nice addition for the price. as others said its not a dueling sword you arent gonna fend off many blade wielding attackers, however it does what it needs to.
i did have to sharpen it with one of those hand sharpeners, a few passes and it was good enough. the tip is extremely sharp out of the box, as are the serrated edges. however even without a razor sharp blade it easily passed the watermelon test. one quick swipe and a clean cut straight through. (also an apple core. tossed and sliced in mid air) only problem, thats been mentioned before, is that the cord wraped handle is display purposes only. my first no contact swing caused it to almost come out of my hand; my advice? get some grip tape (like for hockey sticks) and wrap it OVER the cord, ensuring complete handle coverage and you will fid that this is one decent last resort/close quarters/stealth weapon.

As a member of the Night Claw Clan I go through swords frequently. For the price listed I was able to amass a rather large surplus for when the time comes to attack against the Ryuken army. With the lightweight design I am able to carry at least six comfortably as I walk quietly within the shadows. When the time comes for seppuku I am quite confident that this sword will suffice. With a few passes through my grinder the blade is able to slice through an automatic weapon in one attempt. Overall a very useful sword when used properly.

I now own roughly 30 swords, all of them sharp and practical and all of them costing me $109+. I bought this for $7 and it is by far the best blade in my collection. It is the only one I've used nearly everday and is still just as sharp as wehn I got it in the summer of 2010. Although the string came off after the first use I wasn't disappointed because it grips better with the electrical tape I used as a subsititue. It is a must have for any sword enthusiast or paranoid home owner.

I have bought many swords, and this was by far the cheapest of them. This was also the most sturdy and practical. The wrapping on the handle came off really easy, but I fixed that by simply wrapping the handle with rubber bands for an even better grip. any good tape would also work. This is the most amazing eight dollar sword you'll ever see and if I was the seller I'd put it at more like 30-50 dollars.

Better than I expected.,

I thought it was going to be a piece of metal. I was originally going to give it to my little brother. But, after taking it out of the box, it was a bit more than I expected. I believe it could be a weapon of stealth. Something that can be used while you hide in the shadows. Not for those classic swordsman duels, for it probably wouldn't withstand direct attack. But it is practical, and sharp. I suggest buying it. Its worth the fifteen dollars. Trust me.

This blade is awesome, everyone complains that the strings falls off, well not for me its very sturdy on there. Its extremely sharp at the end but the blade isnt to sharp, but you can sharpen it. Overall, awesome blade.

this was pretty cool it is nice and lightweight the tip and the serrated edges are very sharp the blade could use a litte extra shapening itself.the handle has pretty good grip but doesnt absorb the shock very well. the string on the handle comes off a little sometimes but other than that it is a great product

ok so the pros
cheap nice design cool look with some sharpening will do some damage cons the handle - the fact that it has some nylon wrapped around it and they call it a grip is laughable . but when you think about it your looking at a ninja sword. meaning that your looking for something that is lightweight and you can sneak up on someone and take them out before they can strike back. and this is designed for that specific purpose. conclusion dont get this if your looking for something you can match an opponent with because this weapon is not superior by any standard but do get it if your going for a more stealthy style of combat

Pretty Cool, But...,

Pros:
It's a pretty cool design, flexible, strong metal. Titanium finish. Full-tang. You can defend yourself with it, but doubt you should carry it around in public... Cons: The blade is not very sharp at all, and takes a lot of sharpening to get sharp. The serrated edges aren't sharpened in-between the points. The handle can sometimes come apart (super glue will fix that, if you don't make a mess). Conclusion: Pretty cool sword, for the price, and it's metal seems durable, plus it's full-tang with a titanium finish.

First the sword is sharp it can cut an apple mid air with no effort and do some damage to practice dummies. next the string comes loss EASILY which under the string it looks like a paper machey handle which looks like crap if you collect and play with swords buy 2 one for display one for practice other than that not to much problem bought one and restringed it which takes a while it doesnt look as good now but no one notices it to muchand its one the last three loops so they dont see it cause there usually holding there so its ok i guess. Just relize this isnt for sword to sword fighting it will most likly shatter the cheapest one i know that can survive that is 500 dollars good for cutting fruits, vegis, corn stalks, and straw dummies not trees ( dont ever use a sword for trees it kills a blade and they recoil can destroy your wrist. Thats why they invented axes and saws)
