Editorial Reviews

2013 album from the Richmond, VA Alt-Rock band. They have shared stages with the likes of Paramore, New Nound Glory, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, and Good Charlotte. They have earned themselves spots on the Vans Warped tour, Taste Of Chaos, Bamboozle Festival, and SXSW Music Conference. Conditions attributes much of their current success to experiences they all went through playing in previous bands dating back to their high school days. Touring at such a young age has provided invaluable lessons that are still carried with them to this day. While learning from past mistakes may be paying off in the present, all the wisdom in the world will not make up for a lack of quality songs.

Biography

Making a claim of performing a countless number of shows, while on face value may seem noteworthy, does not necessarily speak to the impact a band is able to make while on the road. Seemingly, since the beginning of rock and roll a band could pack themselves in a van and stay out there as long as their heart and soul could endure countless trucks stops and sub par accommodations. So when it ... Read more in Amazon's Conditions Store

Conditions' second full length album, "Full of War", is a very good sophomore release. Fans of the band will immediately notice an evolving sound, but Conditions manages to keep their signature style while building upon it. Brandon Roundtree explores the full range of his vocals, exhibiting growth and passion while staying true to himself. This goes for the lyrics as well, as "Full of War" does not disappoint. Nearly each song has something to say whether it be brutal and in your face like "The Descent of Man", or soft and resonating like "What We Wait For".

There's a few downsides to "Full of War", however. At times, some songs seem to drag. For those accustomed to Conditions up-beat and fast-paced prior releases, it may take a few listens to fully appreciate these slower paced songs.

The only truly terrible song on the album is "Best Mistake". I'm not really sure what the band was thinking with this synth-infused pop atrocity. The lyrics are shallow and it sounds like generic garbage that you'd hear on the radio. Other than this singular misstep, the rest of "Full of War" is a solid album.

This album was a blindside for me, I had no idea about the band or any preconceived concepts. However I will give my first initial thoughts on it and I've repeat listened to it front to back several times now.

The bands overall sound seemed like a mix of Rise Against and Search the City. This is a great thing for me, as both previously mentioned bands have excellent points about them, but sometimes I wish the aggression of Rise Against was in Search the City and the intricacy of the later were in the former.

The songs on the album are all solid, with the middle slumping some for me, however as a whole the hooks are nice and the chorus for me on Skeleton as well as Descent of Man are huge. Both songs are big in a anthem like scope.

Vocally it doesn't stretch much but the vocals are full of passion. I'd argue that vocally it sounds in some ways similar to Number One Guns original album. Which I think also would be a good comparison for the album, however heavier than Number One Guns.

For Pop-Punk this is a great addition. It's got some nice harmony work, good guitar riffs, nice pumping drums and moves reasonably well through it's almost 40min play time.

This band should be way bigger than they are. This album stepped it up a major notch in all areas. Hopefully they will get the recognition they deserve with this release!

Full of War surprised me from listening to from beginning to the end of the album. I really enjoyed every tracks on this album and could listen to the album on repeat. In my opinion, "Full of War" surpass their last album release by a mile and its a very enjoyable album.
