For the price of this package, you really can't complain. Obviously, you aren't paying for the best quality knife. But, for the cost, this knife is fantastic, and the spark stick alone is worth half the cost. The sheath isn't the best, just your typical soft nylon style, but that really is the only thing I don't like about this set-up. This is one of those few things that actually feels like you are getting more than you are paying for!
If you are ever putting together any kind of survival kit, first aid kit, or are into pretty much any kind of outdoors lifestyles, this truly is a must have tool! As a hunter, camper, skier, mountain biker, and all around survivalist, I cannot give this item enough praise!

Just a general heads-up though, as far as knives purchased via Amazon go, this one is by far the sharpest one I've ever received, and it keeps its sharpness very well.

The knife isn't very big, and comes wrapped in a cheap green cord. I removed the cord and wrapped it with para-cord, it looks much better now. All in all not bad for china made. The fire starter works but may snap when worn down a bit.

This fully qualifies as an impulse purchase. In terms of quality you are definitely getting a sub 10.00 dollar knife. But its cheap enough to be liberating - you wouldn't dream of taking your nice, knife aficionado approved brand, hand forged with the tears of Zeus knife, and just throwing it in your toolbag after using it.

This is basically the tacticool equivalent to those cheap, utility knifes you can get at home improvement stores. I wouldn't use it or even carry/have it in any situation where the knife breaking, failing, etc, would inconvenience me.

Is it functional? Yes, it is a pointed, mildly hefty piece of steel.
Does it need sharpening? Yes
Will it hold an edge? Not long
Is the sheath functional? No
Is the handle uncomfortable? Yes, needs re-wrapping with actual paracord
Does it look B.A.? Yes
Would you care if you lost it or someone borrowed it? Not a bit

While not a premium knife, it is fully functional in a minimalist sense - full tang allows the knife to be used as a tent anchor and hammered into the ground with a rock. I use the fire starter sparker to ignite cotton balls dabbed in petroleum jelly for starting fires in all but the most windy conditions. Actually this purchase is a gift for a hiking friend - a number of my friends have purchased this same model after seeing how I use it during hiking and camping.

This knife as others have already mentioned... It does NOT arrive sharp. And cord and sheath are cheap!

But for the price you can sharpen the blade when it arrives, you should know how to do that anyway. You can re-wrap the handle in Para-cord.

If you have more expensive blades, this makes a great beater. If you don't then get this to get started with a Full Tang knife.

For the cost I can not see you finding something better!

It's a good little knife to keep in the backpack to use to keep from breaking your better quality knife point.

This small knife is useful around camp for cutting up vegetables or skinning rabbits or filleting a fish with a little size on it. Blade is a bit thick for a true filet knife. It's light enough to wear around your neck, but put the knife in a stronger leather sheath if you do. It's a very sharp knife right out of the package. A few minutes on a whet stone and it will be lethally sharp.

The cord attached to the cord clip on the fire starter was weakly attached, so I went ahead and pulled it off and tied a couple of knots to keep the fire starter from falling off. Will permanently fix the fire starter to the sheath because it keeps riding up a bit as the knife is pulled from the sheath.

The cord used around the handle and fire starter is light nylon, so you might want to remove it and use a heavier cord to wrap the knife handle if you are a die hard camper/outdoors person.

I like it. Might get another one to keep in my other bug out bag as a spare blade or keep in the glove box as a spare short blade.

A small, but durable blade. You get what you pay for and a little more with this item.....a small, yet compact combo, just right for a boot knife, hunting, etc.

The fire starter has a black coating, scrape it off to expose the silver and its ready to create sparks to ignite your tender. There is a notch at the bottom of the blade which I believe is designed for the ferro rod so you don't have to damage the blade. It is a tiny bit smaller than the diameter of the rod so maybe not.

When you go on any hiking trip or backpacking trip, it is always best to have at least 3 ways to start a fire. Waterproof matches, lighter, and a ferro rod. If 1 fails you have a backup, and your backup has a backup. Practice with the ferro rod in a controlled environment BEFORE youre in a spot to where you'll need it, that way you wont be as stressed, you will have the confidence of knowing exactly how to use it.

The Knife is sharp and with durable metals. Long enough to get the Job done (whatever that would be for hunting), but short enough that people won't think your going postal :). It has a O.K. Case but I have a small feeling that the knife and fire starter could fall out but yet again Not really. Fire starter works the second it came out of the box. I just walked over and scrapped it on a side walk and I had a mini 4th of July, finish came off but didn't effect anything important.
