I had purchased a larger more expensive model 2 years ago. It proved to be more headache than useful by alerted on everything from broadcast radio, cell phones, or any RF simulation.

This one I've had about a week. It comes with included AC adapter, rechargeable batteries, earphones, and the best part for me is a reostat to adjust the sensitivity and eliminate the falsing problem I had with the other unit.

The directions aren't up to speed being translated from Chinese to Engrish. But experience with a similar unit, knowing GPS tracker signals recycle every 10 seconds, bugs or wireless cameras constant, etc. The Red LED's work the same as others. I've tested mine with mini pinhole camera's on keychains, pens, and others that don't have an RF signal. Being limited to the range of common wireless cameras, GPS, electronic bugs, etc. has eliminated all the falsing issues with alerts on common appliances or radios.

The only drawback to these is when using the LED's to locate a camera. The bright Red Light emitted draws attention from curious bystanders. Infrared would be better, but I've only seen these in Red visible light. Overall it works well, and if later it proves to be typical Chinese poor quality, it's cheap enough to replace it with another.

It has rechargeable batteries. It's sensitivity control is a little hard to adjust since it is so sensitive. You get a lot of false detections and this is due to all the RF in electrical systems today, but that is to be expected and you can still detect pinpoints that might be RF bugs. The laser scanner works well. Camera devices show up as a dot in the window. But with laser scanning it can be time consuming and hard on the eye's after awhile, but expected with any laser scanner cause of the pulsing light(by the way the the pulse rate for the laser is adjustable). It will give you a sense of security knowing you are not being bugged.

I would say it is an average buy and worth the price tag.

It works though it can be finicky. You need to be patient and you need to have a good sense of humor when attempting to translate the broken Chinese-Engrish. :) I got a pretty good laugh from the "instructions". You may as well read them for the laugh and resort to common sense and your own technical savvy for actually how to use the device. For Less than $20 delivered to my door, I think it's great. I bought it for a female friend who suspects her male roommate has hidden cameras in her room. She has no clue how to use use it and she is afraid of getting caught in the act, though she is the victim, so I only was able to test it on my own video surveillance equipment and it did in fact work very well in spotting my cams, though they are in plain sight.

Works as advertised so far. Instructions are a bit strange, but easy to figure out. Confirmed testing on wifi, cell and wired mic. Well worth the money.

This does find RF signal sources and the LED's generate light that reflects cameras. It is not perfect by any means and you will have to adjust the sensitivity several times as you check your surroundings, but I used it to find the RF from some WiFi cameras, a WiFi router in a ceiling, some cameras using the light reflectancy, cell phone, and some other items.

If the sensitivity of this device is turned all the way up it just goes crazy no matter where I am at. At low sensitivity it works better but it seems to go off on things that are not even close to being a transmitting device.

This is a great gadget for detecting microwave transmitter/receivers from a cell phone, notebok with WiFi, a Wireless Modem or ? I bought this to make sure my room isn't being bugged, or my car dosn't have a hidden GPS tag. Yes I'm kind of paranoid, but you havn't lived my life. It's coated in gelskin, and has an audible or silent setting. It has earbuds and has an infrared light to detect hidden cameras. This works on the principle that glass reflects the light back to you. I'm not sure what the little compass is good for, LOL The best thing is it was only $25, a small price to pay for some peace of mind. This will not detect laser or parabolic mics, or hardwired mics.
