This beautiful full sized replica Mark V diver helmet is cast from both brass and copper and has a beautiful antique finish. It measures about 18" high, 15" wide, and 18" deep. This helmet is a fine representation of the original and will make a stunning addition to any nautical or Navy theme collection.
Dive helmets are designed to give professional divers the tools they need to work underwater. The helmets protect the diver's face from the water, provide easier ability to see, a constant surface fed air supply, communications systems, and protection when working in dangerous conditions. In 1912 the US Navy started to come up with ways to standardize their diving techniques and systems. The Mark V played a large part helping the US Navy achieve those standardizations. Though there are several manufacturers of Mark V dive helmets all of the parts are interchangeable.
This Mark V Dive Helmet would make a great display piece for any Navy collection.
