This review is from: Fullbar Cocoa Chip, 1.59-Ounce Bars (Pack of 12) (Health and Beauty)
I'm a snack food junkie, especially for anything chocolate. Last year I was on NutriSystem and I was able to lose 25 lbs.; however, as soon as I went back to eating regular grocery store-bought food, I gained it all back.
A month ago I saw a commercial on TV for the Fullbar. I didn't want to order directly from Fullbar (more costly) so I got a couple Fullbar samples from a drugstore (cocoa and peanut butter). These remind me a lot of Rice Krispy Treats. They are fairly large in size for a diet bar. The peanut butter was ok, and I would probably buy this flavor again if I get tired of the cocoa flavored bars. They appear to be puffed wheat bars blended with some other ingredients. I tried making my own using a Rice Krispy treat recipe but they just were not the same. It must be some missing secret ingredient that causes these to work because when I tried making my own I was just as hungry as I normally would be. Yes, they are kind of expensive but you will be buying a lot less "other" food and they are way cheaper than NutriSystem would be. Plus I get to eat regular grocery store food so I don't feel like I am missing out, so there are no temptations. I eat two Fullbars a day. One 30 minutes before lunch and also 30 minutes before dinner, each with a full glass of water. You still eat a regular meal, but much less than without eating the Fullbar. In fact, I almost force myself to eat I feel so stuffed. In two weeks of doing this, I have lost over 10 lbs.

This product is great and does work. I was a bit sceptical, especially when I saw the original price on the Full Bar web site, but then saw that Amazon.com offered is for far less. The bars are good. I tried the cocoa and it is tastes a bit cocoa-ey but not a lot of taste in it so it doesn't taste aweful or so good that you'll keep eating more than one at a time. lol It is a bit chewy and reminds me of the Digggin Smacks cereal w/o the sugar. Also, it does suppress your appetite. Some times I would forget to eat after eating a bar w/8 oz of water and 1/2 later when it is time to eat dinner, there were occasions when I forgot to eat! The bars are low calorie and really help.

Fullbar can be a viable tool in a weight loss program. I buy the cocoa chip flavor, which I actually like; the peanut butter flavor is ok as well. What I do is eat the Fullbar, then I wait for about 20 minutes before drinking a glass of water. When I eat the Fullbar, I don't necessarily feel full; instead, I find that I simply don't think about eating. This is important because as anyone trying to lose weight can tell you - it's not about being hungry; more often than not, it's about craving certain foods, and not being able to eat them in moderation.
As someone else commented, you can eat an apple and feel full, especially if you slice up the apple first. And the apple may help suppress the cravings as well as the Fullbar does (I'll have to pay better attention after eating one.) Maybe what I experience with the Fullbar is the placebo effect - and if it helps me lose weight, that's fine with me! Fullbar is not meant to be a miracle cure - nothing is - it's just a tool. We still need to discipline ourselves to eat healthfully, EXERCISE, and forego those foods that we know we're unable to eat in moderation - so long, peanut butter M&M's (sigh). One last note re weight loss: If you've watched The Biggest Loser regularly, what you notice is that even with top notch exercise equipment and trainers, there are weeks when contestants not only don't lose any weight, but actually gain weight. Losing weight can be complicated, and if you find something that seems to help and it doesn't hurt you, then I say, try it.
