Sitting here in my loose work clothes! Whoo-hoo,

I'm been full-baring for ten days now and am down seven pounds. I was really surprised at how well these products work. It seems to me that they do more than just fill you up. They're also supposed to help you reduce cravings. My sense is that the medical aspect of these bars is that they decompose sort of slowly in your body and keep your blood sugar relatively constant -- unlike the Fiber One bar. I'm assuming that's the medical function of the sugary coating on the puffed wheat, and why one can't just eat a bowl of puffed wheat cereal and have the same effect.
In my case, I feel pleasantly full most of the day through having one an hour before lunch and one an hour before dinner. In the beginning, I felt almost grossly overfull all the time, and had trouble even having a small dinner, but this seems to have resolved itself. Since I'm no longer starving, I no longer binge. I eat the full bar an hour before dinner and then am pleasantly full enough to plan and make a healthy dinner. I also attended a party last week where there were cheese burgers and cookies and lots of sweets and I had -- a seven up. This was a first for me, but I wasn't hungry, so I wasn't tempted. The other thing I've noticed is that I'm losing weight without having any of those nasty ketosis-like symptoms. I don't have headaches or bad breath or that nasty feeling you sometimes have when you're losing weight. Your digestive system may seem more active than usual -- and you may be thirsty and want to drink more water, but other than that you'll feel like yourself (only thinner!). Full bars are nowhere near as yummy as Fiber One, but they really help me manage my cravings. (Peanut butter is the best tasting, but the puffed wheat tends to taste a little soggy and stale. but I'd probably eat asbestos if it helped me this much with my weight. I'm having no problem getting past the taste.) Also, other than the peanut butter and the chocolate, the bars all kind of taste the same -- the cranberry tasted the same as the chocolate, in my opinion. Also, I'm getting to the point where even the whole bar seems too much, so I may experiment with only having half a bar. But here's the thing -- this is the first time in my life, I've been able to stop HALFWAY THROUGH A MEAL because I realized I was full. I eat slower now, I enjoy my food more and am hopefully developing good habits. Yeah, Fullbar! I love you, Dr. whatshisname.

If I'm not mistaken, there were a lot of "promises" made about this products' ability to help people lose weight, which is why I purchased it. The Fullbar was created by a bypass surgeon and was touted as being the next best thing to bypass surgery. It was supposed to create a sense of fullness, by drinking water with the bar about 1/2 hour before a meal, so you wouldn't eat as much.
After giving the Fullbar a try, my feeling is that any fiber bar would do pretty much the same thing. I was really looking forward to trying this product; hoping it would help me lose 10 or 15 pounds. When it came I started a trial - using it only at lunch, and doing just as the instructions stated. I felt it just didn't measure up to the claims which were made. After trying this product I tried experimenting with other bars - all of which tasted better. The Fiber One bar (which is kind of new) tasted the best. the Fullbar was dry and airy, and Fiber One bar came in 1st in all categories - taste, ease of eating with 8 oz water, ability to decrease appetite before the meal, and duration of fullness. The Fullbar looked like a Puffed Wheat bar - it also had a very similar consistency and feel in my mouth. The fullbar looked really good - carmel and chocolate drizzled on the top - it had the look, consistency, and taste of the candy bar. It was sweet, chewy, and really yummy. The ability of the two bars to fill me up was pretty similar, and they both kept me full for about the same amount of time - about 2 hours - the Fiber One bar lasted a bit longer. Maybe I misinterpreted the information given about the product, but what this turned out to be it seemed was a cereal-type bar which was very dry, didn't taste very good, and didn't have as much fiber as some of the newer, really yummy, fiber bars like Fiber One and Fiber Plus. They're both really yummy, but Fiber One has 9 mg of fiber. Not only that, it's really yummy and the carbs are balanced by the amount of protein...I can't remember the amount off hand. My opinion, it's not worth the money, and it doesn't do much of anything.
