5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome hobby book!
I enjoyed this book immensely. It is laid out in such a clear manner as to make felting easy for anyone to do! The ideas presented here are so much fun to put into action. I also read the Xmas one and got so many ideas for presents from there that I saved hundreds of dollars on gifts and made a better connection with friends and family because I made them their...

This review is from: Fulling Around With Felting: A Maddy Laine Handbook (Spiral-bound)
The best part about this book is that it lays flat (spiral bound) and has worksheets for recording your expiriments with felting. Unfortunately, I had learned more just through reading www.knittersreview.com than reading this book. It was a huge disappointment. The patterns provided seemed mostly child/clownish and most involved CUTTING the felt you had hand knit. Although this is a perfectly valid method I find it wasteful to knit peices only to toss the remainders in the garbage. A good portion of the book is devoted to these patterns. Some of which would be excellent to do with children, but not so good for an adult looking for "smart" boiled wool garmets.

I have been unsuccessful in finding a book covering the felting topic, but the web resources I have come across more than out-do this book.
