5.0 out of 5 stars Becoming The Stone And Catching Those Hidden Secrets
All through the beginning of this series I can understand low ratings or reviews and I'm talking about around 4 stars. To me only a few of the episodes in Fullmetal Alchemist didn't live up to the other episodes, somewhere in mid series but that's it, and they weren't bad they just weren't as good as the others. When I tell you that the episodes towards the end are genius...

3.0 out of 5 stars Full metal
I actually like this DVD. However it seemed that the episodes on the DVD should have a lot more of them and a fewer DVDs of full metal to buy in the future. I think that this seller has great sellsmenship and outstanding repersentation of this DVD of full metal. Thanks a lot. You get a stagering A++++++++++++++++++. Way to go.

5.0 out of 5 stars Becoming The Stone And Catching Those Hidden Secrets, May 28, 2006
This review is from: Fullmetal Alchemist, Volume 11: Becoming the Stone (Episodes 41-44) (DVD)
When I tell you that the episodes towards the end are genius I'm not playin around. The episodes that end Fullmetal are absolutley sure to make this show a complete classic work of art if the beginning and middle already didn't. It's captivating, breathtaking, and will at all cost do anything to make these upcoming DVD releases exciting and unpredictable for it's fans.

In 11 there is meetings for everyone, Kimbley and Scar meet up in Lior, Ed is suppose to meet up with Al in Lior also. Just because you have plans to do one thing doesn't mean they won't change. The brothers are unexpectedly confronted by a couple of deadly sins named Wrath and Sloth who clames she is Juliet Douglas but her vague memory tells her different and her sharp looks remind the Elric brothers of someone close and I mean very close to them. Not only do the brothers have to meet up with one piece of their past they're confronted by another and both pieces seems as equally huge. If your wondering about the front cover and why Al looks like that you'll find out how he got those cool tattoos all over his body, he went to Scar's parlor to get them done. The Elric's bros. Find everything they were looking for and more in this volume but is it a beautiful find or a terribly ugly one.

DVD contains, episodes 41-44: 41- Holy Mother, 42- His Name is Unknown, 43-The Stray Dog, 44- Hohenheim of Light.
DVD Features:
Production Art, Image Gallery, Character Profiles, Textless Songs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Take it from a true Fullmetal Fan...(NO SPOILERS), August 30, 2006
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Fullmetal Alchemist, Volume 11: Becoming the Stone (Episodes 41-44) (DVD)
...that this is one of, if not the, best volume yet. Take it from me; I've seen the entire series (and will see the movie when I buy it on DVD September 12) that if there were ever any volumes in the FMA series that are must-haves, it would be Volumes 11 - 13.

If you think that, "Oh, you're just a child. This is probably a little cartoon for kids..." YOU ARE WRONG. I am barely allowed to watch this show even though it is my favorite at the time. The rating for all of these episodes is TV-14 and should not be watched by the faint of heart. I would say that from the last episode in Volume 10 - the LAST EPISODE (Volume thirteen, third episode) it is rated for blood, violence, language, use of alchohol and tobacco, and maybe even suggestive themes.

I don't say that it's not only a kid show just because it has all of that stuff in it, I'm saying that because my PARENTS even like this show. In fact, my dad is anxiously waiting for the movie to come out! (see what I'm saying?) This show is for everyone who can stand watching it, or if they can but they're even allowed to...

5.0 out of 5 stars I can't stand how good this show is..., August 16, 2006
This review is from: Fullmetal Alchemist, Volume 11: Becoming the Stone (Episodes 41-44) (DVD)
All of the Fullmetal Alchemist volumes are good, but this is where it really gets... awesome. And I don't mean that as in the slang term, but that these episodes, from this point to the end, truly and honestly fill me with awe.

In this volume is episode 42, and I've watched it, I don't know, dozens of times since it aired on adult swim. And still every time I watch it, I get cold chills all over. The effect is so powerful, it just doesn't fade.

I've read a lot of books, watched a lot of TV and movies, and I have never come across anything as original as the story of Fullmetal Alchemist (anime and manga).

But perhaps it is not as original as I think. If you can prove me wrong, please do so. Because if whatever it is, is even half as grand as this, then I'll be interested.

5.0 out of 5 stars FMA Vol. 11- Becoming the Stone, November 3, 2006
This review is from: Fullmetal Alchemist, Volume 11: Becoming the Stone (Episodes 41-44) (DVD)
In Becoming the Stone, several of the characters are forced to take stock of themselves and answer for their past actions. Hohenheim of Light (the Elric Bros. father) makes a long awaited appearance and brings more mysteries with him. For Roy Mustang fans, I think he has some of his best moments in this volume. Truthfully, I've enjoyed all the episodes in this series, and vol. 11 continues to be great.

5.0 out of 5 stars SCAR MAKES PHILOSOPHER'S STONE, October 16, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Fullmetal Alchemist, Volume 11: Becoming the Stone (Episodes 41-44) (DVD)
The military has completely surrounded the bombed out city of Liore as Lt. Col. Archer plans to eliminate anyone still left alive inside it. That's exactly what Scar wants him to do. Bring in all his troops to where he can activate the transmutation circle that he has constructed amidst the city itself! As Ed tries to evacuate the residents before the carnage begins, Al and Scar face off against Kimbley, the murderous bomb-freak alchemist who has been indiscriminately killing anyone he comes across. The Homunculi are present too, and seem conflicted as they see their dream of having someone create a Philsopher's Stone come to fruition. Ed has his own fight too, as he battles against the Homunculus that bears the shape of his mother!

As this show winds down it is really getting awesome and compelling and equals some of the best anime I have ever seen. All of the characters in the series seem to be carrying their own pain and ghosts, whether it's Ed and Al's lost limbs and their dead mother, or Winry's knowledge of who killed her parents, or Mustang's guilt about those killings. Every character is striving to free themselves from whatever emotional baggage they're carrying. Unfortunately, in the world of Alchemist, just the like real world, you can't solve every problem. But you can try your best to redeem yourself for past wrongs and sins by changing how you act in the present to make your future different. Another thing that's cool about this show is that the characters are so great that when you get to points where it builds up to a confrontation, whether physical or emotional, it gets you excited. For example, you know Mustang is someday going to have fight the Homunculi, and you just can't wait to see how he fares. Awesome show.

I would highly recommend reading the manga of Fullmetal Alchemist which is currently on Volume 9 which contain the original stories by the true creator and features wildly different storylines, which are in most cases superior to, more complex, and deeper than the anime.
