Fullmetal Alchemist is an amazing series, but one of its greatest achievements, in my mind, is that it managed to not only maintain its stellar quality over time, it consistently got better and better until it actually hurt to see the series come to an end. Seeing all of the plot threads that have been building throughout the whole series coming to fruition is a great payoff, sure, but it's made all the better by the fact that nothing feels like a cop-out; there wasn't a single moment where I thought "Oh, these guys were running out of time and so they just threw that up there." No, everything flows to a logical, incredibly satisfying and poignantly melancholy conclusion. It certainly isn't a Hollywood-style happy ending, but that was never what the series was about in the first place. And even more gratifying than the ending was being able to look back on how all of these characters had grown and changed throughout the series: Lust springs to mind first and foremost, having gone from being your stereotypical femme-fatale to a multi-layered, incredibly sympathetic and tragic heroine. And I never, ever thought I'd be able to empathize with a psychopathic monster like Envy, but the final scenes of episode 50 made me come really close to doing so, even as he... well, I won't spoil it for you here.

In short, Fullmetal Alchemist is an incredibly well done, superbly animated and acted show. The Japanese and English voice tracks are both equally impressive (one of the RARE few animes in which this has happened, the only other to my knowledge being Samurai Champloo). And sure, if you're reading this product description you're probably going to buy this anyway and you've seen the series before, but in case you haven't, just know that you're about to see some of the finest episodes of one of the best anime series ever. This world definitely goes out with a bang, and not a whimper.

This is a must have for any Fullmetal fan! The box sets are gorgeous and make any anime collection.

I purchased the whole series and the movies. The only problem with it is that there weren't more episodes. It is the perfect blend of suspense, fantasy, adventure, drama, love, sacrifice, dedication, suffering, reward, deception, cruelty, compassion, etc...__I was surprised at the depth of this anime. Even grown ups will like this one.

If your purchasing this box set, then im guessing your a fan of the series, and have enjoyed it so far. Well welcome to the highly anticipated end to the origional FMA series. These final eleven episodes are extremley captivating, and everytime one disc was over, I had to pop the next one in to see what else happens. Theres so many twsits and turns its insane! Plus a very open ending that can only give you closure if you buy the FMA Movie, which I highly recommend as well.

Now onto the box set itself. Its very good!! The best box set I've owned so far. In the box is a fold out case with high quality character art on each side, containing the three discs, and another case containing the three guide books to go with each disc, as well as information on whats coming soon from Funimation. The discs all have a brilliant transmutation circle design on them, which is great. The video quality is pretty good, and its all presented in Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound (English Dub only).

Overall, this is a great box set for the tipical FMA fan, but if you have the extra money, I suggest purchasing the complete second season set on DVD. 5/5.

Obviously, this DVD set won't make any sense if you haven't seen the first 40 episodes. But if you have mdae it this far, be prepared to have all (actually, probably most) of your questions answered. This is a spectacular finale to a spectacular anime. Do not pass this one up.

Every review will tell you how great this anime is, and the EPIC conclusion to an already great story should come as no surprise. This edition comes with collector's booklets that contain lots of character art and backgrounds, perfect for any big fan of the show. Be sure to look for the Manga series as well, which has a slightly different storyline and continues well beyond what the series covers.

Wonderful... was sad when I got to the end of FMA ! Heard they might be starting a new season... hope it's true =)

Introduction to Fullmetal Alchemist (No Spoilers)
Fullmetal Alchemist is about two young boys name Edward Elric and Alfonso Elric bringing their dead mother back to life using Alchemy. Now that Edward and Alfonso had a rough time, they return back to their childhood town to regroup and think of a different plan. Meeting new allies and villians, Ed and Al have their hands full but no matter what, their goal of becoming normal is just one step away. The stone is near and betrayles, twists and turns will make you guessing until the very end. If you are new to the anime, You might think it's a little kids anime but it's not. Fullmetal Alchemist includes war, violent fights, some gory scenes, rasicm. Season Two Part two is the ulimate yet jaw dropping end of the series people will witness. Are the Elric brothers finally going to have their bodys back and live a peaceful life? Will anything stop them? Season Two Part Two will answer all those questions....

The boxset comes with amazing artwork of the anime and a unique way of placing the discs (contains 3 discs). The boxset also comes with the name and the number of the episodes and a awesome circle sign on the disc itself. It comes with booklets explains where everything to place and the characters profile.

The DVD comes with all the episodes of season one part one, subtitles and extras. The extras includes Production artwork, trailers, Clean Opening and Clean Ending.

The series itself i heared was amazing and the whole series comes in 4 boxsets including a movie. Since i haven't finish the series yet, I'm hoping that i encouage people to buy this anime and watch how Edward Elric and Alfonso Elric paths unfold..

Full Metal Alchemist is one of the most imaginitive and well produced anime series I've seen. This package ends the second season, wraps up the TV show and sets the stage for the Conqueror of Shamballa movie (also excellent).

The storyline, characters, and dialogue are at times intense and at other entertainingly funny. The Japanese and English translations are equally well done with Edward Elric voiced dazzingly by Vic Mignogna (English) and Romi Paku (Japanese).

I have to put FMA at the very top of my favorite anime series. Buy it, you'll love it.

Full Metal Alchemist is one of those amazing animes that make you feel every emotion. You'll feel anger, happiness, disbelief and you'll end up laughing your head off (usually when Edward is being called short). I love this anime series and it's easily on the top ten list of my favorite animes of all time. This show is definitely worth buying!
