I recently started reading this manga, and when I started I couldn't stop till I finished! It was a very exiting story that is well worth the read. I was a fan of the first anime series a few years back, but after getting into the manga, I felt that it was much superior to the anime. This is one of the few manga series that I have followed through to the end and it was a fantastic ending! If you are at all interested in shõnen manga this one of the greatest ones out there.

Hiromu Arakawa, Fullmetal Alchemist, vol. 27 (ViZ, 2010)
Fullmetal Alchemist ends exactly the way you expect it to--with a huge climactic battle that pretty much amounts to the entire fighting force against the Dwarf in the Flask, and then a "where are they now?" epilogue detailing the events of the days/weeks after the end of the last battle. It is not a distinctive conclusion in any way, but it is a satisfying one. Over the course of twenty-seven volumes, Arakawa's series never flagged, and that's impressive indeed. *** ½

A great ending to the series, looks wonderful and full of action. And every character has their stories wrapped up in some way, even ones I forgot about, even if its just a single image at the end, tons of gag panels at the end and 2 epilogue chapters not in the .
Of course if you have followed FMA this far of course you will get it anyway
