Spurgeon on Joy,
This review is from: Fullness Of Joy (Paperback)
Is there an absence of joy in your life? Do you lack wonderment of the soul? Do you miss embracing daily delights in your mortal life? If you answered yes to any of the aforementioned questions then "The Fullness of Joy," by Charles Spurgeon is an inspiring solution.
One should have real joy if one ponders the gospel as Spurgeon notes: "The heart of the gospel is redemption, and the essence of redemption is the substitutionary sacrifice of Christ" (C.H. Spurgeon). That the believer is forgiven, accepted, redeemed, and forever loved by God through the cross should promote a robust joy and gladdening of one's heart. Chapters consist of: - Thanksgiving to the Father - Jesus, our Holy Praise - Marvelous Things - A Harp of Ten Strings - And more. Spurgeon added: "There is something marvelous in the joy that we, who have believed in victory secured by Christ, received" (p. 77). Great sermons (yes great is appropriate) that serve as wonderful devotional material and a means to stir one's heart towards God as you live in lively joy because of all Christ has done for you. Also see a book that demonstrates the existence of God by employing moral absolutes: There Are Moral Absolutes: How to Be Absolutely Sure That Christianity Alone Supplies or "Letter to an Atheist Nation: Presupositional Apologetics Responds To: Letter to a Christian" type in ASIN#: 1432706322 |
