Great pedal. Great. However...
It was breaking down, so I got in touch with their repair dept. They said simply, Send it in and we'll fix it. Next message from them was an invoice for $60. About one-third the cost of a new unit to repair the two switches and LEDs. I paid, no questions. After making the full payment, I emailed them to comment/complain. Here is Mike Fuller's personal response: You are a spoiled idiot. Go away. Michael Fuller [...]

Very Responsive and Amp-Like,

This pedal is built like the proverbial tank and can produce a very wide range of distortion sounds short of heavy metal. It also has a very effective boost switch for lead tones. Clean (of unintended audio artifacts, that is) and dead quiet, too.
Though nominally a 9-volt pedal, one trick mentioned on Fulltone's site that actually works very well with this pedal is to feed it 18 volts, making it even more responsive. I wired a custom power cable in about 10 minutes which takes two 9-volt batteries. The pedal is no pot-metal wonder or aluminum lightweight. It's a heavy-gauge steel box with equally heavy-duty components, i.e., it's built for continuous pro use, and every part screams quality. Fulltone's true bypass switches are now in widespread use among other pedal makers as well. Regardless of where you stand on true bypass vs. buffers, if your pedal has true bypass switching - as does this one - you want it to be good, and Fulltone's is the best on the market. Feed with batteries or Fulltone's own regulated external power supply. Regulation is a real plus for consistency and predictability of sound. Watch out for the polarization of the external power supply if you don't use Fulltone's. You will blow the pedal and void the warranty if you plug in with reversed polarity. See www.fulltone.com for audio samples as well as information on the power supply (which isn't on Amazon for some reason).

Holy buckets of tone batman!
Let me start by saying, I'm always on the quest for great amazing tone. I think it ends here. This pedal is absolutely remarkable. Built like a tank, I'm pretty sure it will out live me. Its full of sonic options. The overdrive has a level, tone and overdrive. Almost self explanatory except the tone is more of a presence knob and less of an EQ which is a total plus in my book. it also has a mini toggle for comp cut, fm, and vintage modes. The comp cut is more of a clean boost to push your amps front end, the fm is really transparent, and the vintage mode gets you that creamy midrange bite. Yes, this may be another tube screamer clone, but it's a darn great one. The added MOSFET circuitry toggle gives it a lovely growl your low-end fattening it up, if thats your cup of tea, while the standard leaves it more transparent. You should know this switch does effect the whole signal, not just that of the boost side. On to my only negative check on this pedal, the boost ONLY works when the OD is on. It is not a boost to be run in series with the overdrive, just additional circuitry to add more gain to your OD signal. Another great feature, this pedal can be run at different volts from 9v-18v.Running at standard 9v gets you easier breakup, whereas 18v will get you more headroom. This pedal won't be leaving my board, probably ever. If you're even thinking about it, just do it!!! You'll never regret it.

Great Boost Pedal,

Fantastically flexible, like having six pedals in one (and two at a time with the boost option). Vintage mode is great for grimy, slack overdrive. At the other end of the spectrum is the CompCut mode which is straight up, tight, bright, sparkling clean boost, with pronounced mids. The FM mode, in the middle is a boutiquey Tube Screamer type of thing. The tone control is subtle, maybe not for full on metalheads. This pedal has replaced my Coloursound Tonebender, Boss Bluesdriver and Vintage DOD Overdrive.
I've put it in front of my Ampeg Jet 12, JMP Marshall 50 and 64' Bassman and been supremely satisfied, Live and in the studio.

Plain and simple: I LOVE THIS PEDAL
I was torn between the TS9, the TS808, a fulltone OCD, the Boss BD2, and this. I went to my local guitar center and tried em out and fell hard and fast for this blue box. I am a worship leader at my local church and we play very modern worship music and this gets me very coldplay/hillsong/U2/snow patrol style stuff. I haven't tried pushing into very heavy heavy distortion, but for a good overdrive this does the trick. As with any pedal try before you buy.

The "go to" overdrive,
By
This review is from: Fulltone Fulldrive2 MOSFET Overdrive/Clean Boost Guitar Effects Pedal Blue
The Fulltone Full Drive 2 is another incarnation of the original Fulldrive. Now with MOSFET circuitry available via toggle switch, this just makes the pedal even more flexible. Not to mention boutique quality at a working man's price.
This device is built solid and sports a powder blue coat finish. The volume knob gives you lots of gain, the tone knob is a "presence" control, the overdrive knob adjusts the level of overdrive, and then there is the boost level. Yes, this is a 2-switch pedal, so when you are playing a chunky rhythm you can step on the "boost: switch for a great lead tone. The toggle switch in between the tone and drive knobs affect the pedals tonal character as well as how the knobs affect each other. There is "comp cut" allowing for a cleaner boost, FM for "flat mids," and "vintage" for a more Tubescreamer tone. As a bonus, the pedal is also capable of running on 18v power for cleaner headroom, which is handy for hum bucker pick-ups. If you have the scratch and are, looking for a perfect OD pedal then look at the Fulldrive 2. It may wind up having a permanent position on your pedal board.

A well built OD but not my thing. It has a very modern, open sounding voice but a tad harsh. I gave it away because I like my OD's to be a bit cloudier sounding. It's in nice box tho

Background: I play guitar professionally for more than 10 years, mostly rock/alternative music.
Guitars: Epiphone Casino / Epiphone Les Paul Limited / Washburn W2 Review: I bought the pedal for $152 and it arrived within 2 days. I am using it with an Epiphone Casino Custom, and an Epiphone Les Paul. This pedal is very flexible and the Tone knob doesnt affect any low or middle frequencies. You can get very cool sounds with lots of overdrive or very little and with different type of overdrive using the CompCut/FM/Vintage switch... A pretty cool and handy option. At the beginning I thought that the boost part would be just to add plenty of boost in your distortion, which is not quiet doing, you can get a very small boost to your overdrive but basically it also gives you a different type of overdrive as well, I am using an MXR booster at the end of my effect chain so this boost is just for the solo time. Remember to read the manual, its not hard to work with but it has some useful tips, for example, the boost is not working by itself, the overdrive should also be activated. Great overdrive pedal in general and in great price. I also own a ZVex Super Duper which costs double the money of this one, and I still think that with the Fulltone you can get the same overdrive, maybe not the boost, but definitely the type of overdrive. Just mess around with it a lot and you will love it!!! Also, pretty sturdy pedal. I read another review in a different website saying otherwise... definitely untrue... Enjoy!

Solidly Built. This pedal probably the klast one I'll use ever. Very broad range from just adding a bit of bite and edge to a heavy distortion. Still fooling with the settings. You can compress the distortion or on FET mode give a much better dynamic range with more response to pick attack. Overall it's great pedal for the money. I use it with a 9 volt regulated adaptor. Fulltone recommends experimenting with an adapter with voltages up to 18v for better dynamic range. Others have told me they prefer to use it with a weak 9v battery. I ordered it and got it in a timely manner although it came from washngton State to NY - the shipping time was longer than I wanted it to be through no fault of the vendor. I replace a Rockton Austin pedal. The one advantage the Austin pedal has is the Bass Compensation knob, which is something every pedal should have. May try and use them together just to add that function. I tend to use only 3 pedals - echo/tube screamer type device (which the fulltone replaces) and an inline tuner...other wise it's just too much junk in the line and I distrust the purity of the sound.

Rocking pedal. You can get any type of gain from classic rock to death metal once you play around with it.
