Some things just work!,

This lock fits and works. It is secure and defies casual theft. It is weather resistant and stays shiny after years service. Not shiny enough to find it in the weeds, but shiny none the less. I am buying my second one because the only way this lock can fail you is if you lose it. I did.

Works great - but causes thieves to resort to other means,

This lock works great. In fact, it works extremely awesome.I used it on my trailer to lock the rear doors. I had thieves break in. However, the thieves were not able to break this lock so they instead used a crowbar to pop the rivets for the entire door lock assembly in order to gain access to the trailer. So, I actually kinda wish they had broken the lock since it would have meant less damage to my trailer. However, that is not the fault of the lock and just goes to show that this is a very good lock. You won't be disappointed in it making thieves angry. ;-)

This lock jammed and couldn't be unlocked. I was happy that it was brass because I wound up sawing it off.

I could not find this lock at Home-Depot nor Lowe's. I had one for 5-6 years to go on my pop-up camper hitch. The old one finally rusted (I live in FL so things rust in the salt air). Perfect fit for most ball hitch latches. I use it while driving and storage.

Beware the throat width,

This lock mechanism is pretty slick.Unfortunately, my 2001 travel trailer with an Atwood tongue turns out to have a latch that's nearly 1/8" wider than the throat of this lock, so it simply doesn't fit. Nothing in the current published specs allowed me to discover that without first purchasing the lock.

THIS MASTERLOCK IS GOOD FOR LOCKING YOUR HELMET TO THE REAR RACK OF YOUR BIKE. I WOULDN'T RECOMEND USING IT AS A CHAIN OR WIRE LOCK FOR IT IS A VERY LITE LOCK MORE LIKE FOR PIECE OF MIND AND NOT FOR RELYABLE SECURITY.

I've owned many trailer locks but this one is the hook! Once you put it on someone would have to use a saw or torch to take it off without a key.

I purchased this lock for a trailer and after less than a year the lock no longer works. Insert the key and turn but the lock does not unlock. Do not purchase one of these unless you want to find yourself in my situation or purchase a hack saw along with it so that you can cut it off when it malfunctions.

It's a high quality lock that makes it difficult for thieves to cut the lock and take off with my trailer. It fits my trailer nicely and leaves little to no room to cut through the metal stud. After two seasons of use, the lock works great. It held up well to the outdoors.I would recommend this Master lock to anyone looking to give a bit more protection to their trailer. As you know, any determined thief will find a way, but this lock gives me a bit more comfort knowing that it's solid all around. |
