Fun with Arabic: Learn Arabic the Fun and Easy Way

"Fun with Arabic" is a very well-produced self-paced program for those who want to get a quick introduction to Arabic and see if the language meets their fancy. This program goes particularly well with Awde & Samano's 'The Arabic Alphabet: How to read and write it." A very very brief grammar overview module is included. Sound quality is good, with both male and female speakers. I am extremely well-pleased with what I got for my money on this one!

It is easy to use and detailed. I would have liked if it would have came with a few more conversational vocabulary words to make it excellent.

I haven't really seen the CD's. But this is the full version of what's available on the website funwitharabic. With the exception of the alphabet song, I have two major comments on this CD:
- First, it teaches many words in colloquial Egyptian Arabic. Which is fine if that was your purpose.
- Second, and more importantly, it has many inappropriate words that I would not teach to kids. Many of them revolve around going out, beer, sheesha, etc. While the alphabet song was nice and might give the impression it's done for kids, but the rest of the material is certainly not suitable.

Be careful and check the website before buying the CDs.

This CD gives good information to the Arabic alphabet, which is the first thing that should be learned. It doesn't apply very good memorization strategies unless you have a photographic memory. This is best for people who are interested in Arabic to see the most basic parts of it before starting to learn more about it.

Arabic is very difficult language to try and pick up. If you are not prepared to devote real time, patience and a full attention span then I would suggest you choose a simpler language. Fun with Arabic was great because it broke down a very complex language into comprehensive components. For instance, the letters of the alphabet are fully explained; with crystal clear sound and word examples. That was no doubt my favorite feature! It took me a while after having learned the alphabet to sing along with accuracy, but with persistence, I DID IT!

My suggestion to you is that you check your sound player quality before trying to use it to understand sounds you've never heard before.

The vocabulary words describe life; while being an effective learning tool for letter placement examples in words. After learning all about the letters, it was not very hard to complete the quiz section.

I cannot stress time management enough. If you put the time in required to fully understand the Arabic language this CD can certainly fulfill any expectations!
