5.0 out of 5 stars *A FIVE STAR CLASSIC*
Another classic album from Sacramento's favorite band, the Groovie Ghoulies. The songs are tighter and more concise than ever on this cd, including some of the band's strongest material, with tunes like "She's My Vampire Girl", "Outbreak","Have Your Way With Me" "Carly Simon", and amazing covers of the New York Doll's "Lonely...

3.0 out of 5 stars Eh.
Ah, it's been a while since I've heard some good ol' morbid pop-punk. For those of you unitiated with the Ghoulies, they're really nice, friendly, cool, music-making people -- except that most of their songs have to do with death, witchcraft, etc. There is nothing wrong with this. In fact, I rather enjoy it, because I can never tell if they're being serious or joking...

Nice! I love this album! This music always makes me go: GO GROOVIE GHOULIES! the band masters their style and are kick-ass live band! if you get the opportunity go see 'em. Even though the txt is a bit morbid, which I find quite amusing, they still manage to keep a tight line. it's fast, it's funny it's the Groovie Ghoulies. "She gets all the girls" and "Vampire girl" are kick-ass pop-punk tunes!

you should also check out the "GO! Stories!" album

Go check out the Ghoulies live-they're one of the best bands you'll ever see.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Ghoulies keep getting better and better!, July 23, 1999

Fun In The Dark is another great album by the Groovie Ghoolies. I'm never disappointed with what they come out with. Yes, the songs are simple, but they are definately NOT boring thanks to Kepi's creative lyrics and distinctive voice. "She's got a brian scrambling device" and "Don't make me kill you again" are a couple of my favorites. I can't wait to see them again because their live performance is even better.

4.0 out of 5 stars Refreshing, straightfoward fun punk, May 13, 1999

The Ramones are no longer producing great music. The GG's might be the next best thing, though. They have the basic "punk" riffs along with some cool pop hooks (think the Ramone's "Howling at the Moon" or "Rock 'n Roll High School"). "Carly Simon" would be a sure fire hit if they ever played it on "alternative" radio. A very good addition to Lookout Records strong repetoire.

I don't have this CD yet, but I hope to soon, because my friend has it and I make her play it for me all the time. I love the ghoulies in concert, and their songs really rock and are really fun to listen to. The lyrics are funny, and you'll wanna listen to each song over again.

With song titles as "(she's got a) Brain Scrambling Device," "Don't Make Me Kill You Again," and "(she's my) Vampire Girl" you can pretty much figure out the lyrics without even hearing the band. There's one problem with that, though -- you should hear this band, because they are masters of the Lookout! pop-punk style. Plus there's girl vocals sometimes! You can't go wrong with a girl singing "Have your way with me," can you?
