Patrick Spielman does not let us down with any of his books. This one is no exception. The unique projects from making tops to unique designs helps fule the imigination of the beginning and expercienced scroll sawer alike. Detailed instructions and helpful hints makes this book a most for all scrollers.

This book is wonderful. I'm glad it was the first scrolling book I got. It's a perfect beginner book with a wide range of projects on a wide range of levels from beginner to advanced. It's full of tips along the way about how to cut different materials and how to set up your cuts. The only real beef I have with the book is the beautiful log scene project featured on the front of the book. I really wanted to make it when I ordered the book, but then once I got the book found out that it requires both a band saw and a scroll saw. I only have a scroll saw and had assumed that the cutting in a book on scroll sawing would be done with a scroll saw. They really needed to chose a scroll saw project to use on the cover to sell the book. The only other problem I've had with any projects from this book is that for some, like the bowl also featured on the front cover, you MUST have plain-end blades. Pin-end won't fit through the bitty holes the pattern requires you to drill for entry.
