First, this was a gift that I bought for my husband to give to my daughter. He completely got all the credit because they share that sense of humor!

Okay, the device is solid - it's been dropped around 4 times already and still works as though right out of the packaging. The boom box technology that is referred to is interesting - it's a screw out piece of plastic that resembles a speaker. I don't believe it actually amplifies the bass, treble or any other frequency more than when you have it screwed in but it is really neat, and it is also has a solid feel to it. My daughter leaves it open ("on").

The remote works very well, but it appears to be line of sight and does have a limited range. My daughter was disappointed that she couldn't detonate one through a wall.

As for the sounds, I don't have Fart Machine 1 to compare with but I can tell you that I am amazed with the variety of noises issuing from the machine. We have come up with our own names to describe them. There is the "Dumpster Fart". The "Excuse Me, I've dropped something". The "Oopsie, daisie" and the "Farts don't come in lumps". All to answered with many giggles and "That was the dog"!

My only concern is that when it is left on and laying innocently about, the device will emit one of it's many variety gastric calls without anyone using the remote! We call this one the "Ghost Fart". It does it about every 5 minutes. The plus side is that it reminds us to turn it off, saving batteries.
