1.0 out of 5 stars A very basic listing, June 8, 1999

This review is from: Fun with the Family in North Carolina: Hundreds of Ideas for Day Trips with the Kids (Paperback)
There was little in this book that is not available in the state's own publications. I'm familiar with some of the areas he covers and know he missed many of the most engaging kids finds,ie the country store filled with marbles, the eagle with the broken wing at Grandfather Mt. There is more to kids entertainment than amusement parks and if a restaurant doesn't welcome children, why mention it? His family anecdotes are amazingly dull!!

5.0 out of 5 stars FANTASTIC!, February 9, 2004
By A Customer
This is one of the most helpful books for travelling North Carolina that I've come across. It's extremely helpful and the personal stories provided by the author help give a better understanding of what the area has to offer! They were also especially amusing as stories of their own accord. Going on day trips across North Carolina were much more entertaining when using the information provided in this book!
