Diahann Carroll is on this cd fantastic and so funny. Her singing style brings a kind of naughtyness to the lyrics that i have only heard earlier from Miss Eartha Kitt.
Favorite is The boys in the backroom. Why isn?t this kind of singers arund anymore. The new girls should listen to this kind of singers and perhaps learn something about frasing. YOU DON`T HAVE TO BE NAKED TO BE SEXY!!!!!

So don't let the label (Atlantic) scare you. Recorded and released in 1961. The bulk of the songs are pretty much Pop and MOR (Middle Of The Road) chestnuts of the day. If you enjoy Johnny Mathis, Nancy Wilson or Nat 'King' Cole you'll feel right at home with this album. The main reason for the so-so sales when it was 'Originally' released has NOTHING to do with the Quality, Arrangements and/or the selection of songs, it was just that Atlantic Records was burning up the charts with Ruth Brown, Ray Charles, The Drifters and countless other R&B and Rock & Roll artists, but if you were look at the label's discography you would clearly see that they (Atlantic) covered almost EVERY FACET of music including Jazz, Pop, MOR (Middle Of The Road), Gospel and more! We are talking about a MASSIVE ALBUM CATALOG!!! So many great albums were just simply lost in the shuffle and/or not properly promoted such as the case with this album. They are no stand out tracks, but they all are solid throughout and in Pure Stereo! The Arrangements are handled by Peter Matz. It should also be noted that there had to be several requests for this album to be reissued on Compact Disc in 2002...That alone should tell you something.
