One of June's earliest memories is one of fascination with her mother's sculptures and watercolors. She grew up hearing stories about her grandfather, who was also an artist. Homesick for his native islands of Madeira, Portugal, her grandfather drew fantastic schooners with a fountain pen on grandma's white linen tablecloths!
June knew very early on that she was an artist too. The first drawing she remembers doing as a child was a portrait of her dog, made using a burnt match on the inside of a matchbook cover.
June is a fine artist, children's book illustrator, author and craftsperson. In addition to the Fun and Simple State Crafts series, June has helped design crafts for many of Enslow's crafts books written by other authors. She has also illustrated a number of books for Enslow Publishers.
She owned and operated The Funky Urban Renaissance, a gallery in Hoboken.
June has written stories for Parents Magazine, Weird New Jersey, and others. She has a studio in an old farmhouse on a hill overlooking Paulinskill Lake, in northwestern New Jersey...and can hear the fish jump on hot summer nights.
She has two sons, Maurice and Devon, who have been a source of inspiration and joy.
