I did a LOT of comparison shopping for a weighted blanket. Most of them ran at least $180-$200, then I found this one. I bought it and I have to say that I am very pleased. My autistic son sleeps with it every night and it has certainly helped him to start sleeping through the night better. I think that the design is very efficient, there are 4 sectioned long tubes of weights to insert and the blanket has darts through out it that create 'tunnels' for them. There is a covered velcro opening and a button to hold them in place. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the weights can get out of line and a few darts have come undone. I reinforced the darts myself and haven't had any problems since. Even with that trouble this is still by far a better value than most comparable items.

I selected this blanket as it appeared not too bulky.
My son has recently developed a need for constant deep pressure. It took his a few days getying used to the blanket. By day 3 he was sleeping an additional 2 hours on top of his usual 6 hours. I find trying to keep the weights aligned within their "channels" somewhat of a task. I have to keep in mind which end is the top and which is the bottom. On the other hand, its a big advantage that the weights can be removed to wash the blanket. This product worked for my child. I hope it helps your child too. |
