3.0 out of 5 stars Fun... but not perfect...
My daughter really likes these for studying her math facts. The problem is that the printing is misaligned on some of them which makes them so you can't fold them. So, although a great idea, they don't always work. We have had to make our own using the book to look at.

Do you have a child struggling to learn the multiplication tables? Do you feel like you have tried everything? That is where were were. We tried wrap-ups and the math shark and workbooks and math CDs and math DVDs. Yes, we have gone through lots of math materials to try to assist a child that really struggles with basic math concepts, especially those that require rote memorization. Then we bought this. It is simple and it works. Your child cuts out the flip facts shape, colors it in, and then folds it to create a math tool. Of course, if you have a daughter, she may have already learned how to fold these little shapes at school or camp. My daughter had so she took to this approach right away. It was fun, it kept her engaged, and because she would actually use this it seemed to help. You could make these without the book, but the book has cute little characters for the kids to color that made them more engaging. I thought it was worth the price.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun learning, July 18, 2007
This review is from: Fun-flap Facts: Multiplication (Paperback)
I bought these for my seven year old daughter so that she could have a fun way to review her math facts over the summer. She loves crafts, so she really enjoyed coloring the pages and then creating the fun-flap with it. The flaps are a little tricky to fold, they required my help ( and refolding) to get them lined up just right. But, the effort was worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars teaching facts, July 9, 2009

My students love the fun-flaps. It was a great review for them. They couldn't wait to show their parents and quiz them. The kids had trouble folding them; but once they learned they could easily create them all. This year I'll use them as a center activity and then have the kids practice on each other for a week before creating the next fun-flap.

I would endorse this product to be a lot of fun and helpful. This applies a tactile concepts to learning and children usually learn better when they have greater hands on experiences in learning.

3.0 out of 5 stars nice idea, but not very functional, December 15, 2010
This review is from: Fun-flap Facts: Multiplication (Paperback)
I agree with another reviewer, in that the idea is great but the printing is misaligned, and then the whole thing does not work. My copy was a pdf download, so it should print out nicely like all other pdf documents. I've made three so far, adjusting the printer settings each time. The reason I bought the book was because I thought the idea was great and would make the memorization more fun, and this is still true (if I could get it put together correctly!) The sayings/rhymes are pretty cute and would probably help with memory, if you can get the thing to function. Some of the ones I have made will go in the trash because they were to bent up in the process of making and remaking and did not end up working in the end anyway. Pretty cumbersome final product. If I hadnt paid $1 for the book, I would be reviewing more harshly. You really could make these yourself and save some money!

The activities are for secondary school. Is a game that help the kids to involve in the math world. But is difficult to work with little kids.

My daughter loves this cootie catcher. She isn't learning much but she likes to play with it. I guess it really depends on how your child learns best.
