The compass never worked for me since I bought the item and the pocket knife keeps popping out automatically which isn't safe at all. I wouldn't recommend this product at all.

I bought this for the compass keychain to I can attach this to my backpack and take with me. It has a flathead screwdriver/can opener built in and a knife that folds in securely.

The carabiner with knife is where I had issues. It is of decent build quality and has a long sharp knife on it along with phillips and flathead screwdrivers. When the knife is pulled out it snaps securely into the open position and has to be unlocked to shut it - that is the good part. Unfortunately when shut it easily opens with the slightest of movement. This means a jar in the backpack, like when hiking, and it will slip itself open and when you reach into your bag you may be slicing your fingers open.

It doesn't cost much and is made in China, so I guess I should have known it was too good of a deal for the items. Two ways to look at this is if the knife stayed closed well, this would be a 5 star combo given the price. If the carabiner wasn't even included I still would have bought this and it would have gotten 4 stars. But a knife that shift open and can cause serious injury, that is not acceptable. 2 stars as the compass works fine.
