I wish this book was available 25 year ago! a must read for any investor,
This review is from: Fundamental Analysis For Dummies (Paperback)
Another amazing effort from one of the defining business writers of our time. There is a reason why USA Today has Matt Krantz as a lead market reporter. Matt not only understands thoroughly all the nuances of fundamental analysis, but can explain it to those who do not in a prose that even new investors can easily understand. Even though I have been a professional investor for over 25 years, with a background as a floor trader and floor broker on all three of the Chicago exchanges, I learned a lot by reading this book that I never knew or considered as important. I wish this book had been available when I started in the business.

This review is from: Fundamental Analysis For Dummies (Paperback)
As a introductory publication on Fundamental Analysis of shares, like all of the For Dummies books is well written and easy to read. The author although from a journalistic background has obviously spent a lot of time coming to terms with the concepts and methodology of Fundamental Analysis.
For anyone starting out in the stock market whether a Fundamental analyst or Technical analyst this is a must read.

This book is the perfect reference on fundamental analysis for anyone who invests in stocks. Information is out there on the internet, it's free, and it's so important to make use of it no matter how you approach investing in equities. This book helps you do it. I did a quick read of the sections of interest and a skim of the rest so I can now refer to the topics as I need them and read further when the information pertains to the stocks I'm looking into. I'm no dummy, but I appreciate that this book is organized and comprehensive. Ultimately I think it can help me become a better investor and less of a "trader."

Great for beginners,
This review is from: Fundamental Analysis For Dummies (Paperback)
I got this book after reading through "The Intelligent Investor" and realizing I still didn't know how to perform a fundamental analysis by the end of it! Don't be turned off by the title, this book is great for beginners and really gets you the information you need to know. I enjoyed it especially because it is very readable and does not give you just vague fundamentals that a lot of other highly regarded books give. I'd definitely recommend this book

Matt Krantz has done a remarkable job in covering every aspect of fundamental analysis. He touches on every subject just enough to gain an understanding. I enjoyed how he walks you through practical applications through examples and even how to use the Hewlett Packard 12C Financial calculator. He also provides great historical examples and even very useful websites. The book has been very useful in my quest to understanding how companies operate, how the market works, and how other variables interact with investors. This book will go in my reference library.

Great aid for value analysis,

This review is from: Fundamental Analysis For Dummies (Paperback)
Having read books on Benjamin Graham's and Warren Buffets approach to investing I was, from that point on, firmly in the value investing camp. This book gives you the analytical tools you need to really assess the true worth of a company and filter out the 'market noise' on any particular stock. In addition it clearly explains the value of each measurement and more importantly that the sum of the whole is greater than the parts i.e. to rely on any one measurement is foolish. Not all analysis can be quantatitive, qualitative is just as vital and again the book provides insights into how to conduct analysis in this area enabling you to read between the lines of any company information as well as identify the 'gottcha's' out there. All in all another fine piece of work from Krantz.

A must-have for investors,
This review is from: Fundamental Analysis For Dummies (Paperback)
Everything you ever wanted to know about fundamental analysis written in easy-to-understand language. Lots of detail and examples. Fundamental analysis can be a dry subject, but Krantz makes it a fun read. A must-read for investors who want to learn how to perform their own due diligence on stocks.

It's a good thing I still have some of my notes from school because this book is littered with formula errors in almost every chapter.
