5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent guidelines for the new or seasoned case manager., January 3, 1999
This review is from: Fundamentals of Case Management: Guidelines for Practicing Case Managers (Paperback)
This work is very well written, concise, and very helpful for the new case manager or the seasoned professional. The generic case forms in the appendix are very well prepared and user friendly. Having been in case management for several years, this book gives good ideas for improvements, as well as meet the needs of any manager.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Case Management Book on the Market, August 1, 2009
This review is from: Fundamentals of Case Management: Guidelines for Practicing Case Managers (Paperback)
As a former clinician I find the book realistic and one that I wish I had used when I obtained my MSW. There are some shorter books that are very good but none with the depth and breadth of this particular work. I use this book for half of a semester in conjunction with another text that covers psychotropic medication so it has to have some staying power. I used the previous edition and continue with this edition which has improved teaching aides. The PowerPoints are actually usable as is the test bank and that is most certainly not always the case. As a matter of fact most of the PowerPoint resources that I have used that came with other text books were literally unusable.

I use this book at Columbia College where I teach a Case Management Class in our Human Services program and it is perhaps the most realistic and down to earth text I use. One quirk, not a flaw but something to be aware of, is that there has been no attempt to make the chapters the same length. That is a normal practice for most test books so you would cover one chapter a week - or something like that. But, the chapters in this book run from ones that are fairly lengthy to ones that are very short.
