Comprehensive, interdisciplinary, and authoritative, Fundamentals of Clinical Supervision continues to be the most widely used and respected supervision text in the field. Recognizing the overlap of the mental health disciplines and of supervision modalities, the authors have integrated psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy, and social work to fully cover the central themes that dominate the study and practice of clinical supervision. With a focus on developing the supervision relationship, the text contains all content areas required for certification as an Approved Clinical Supervisor, offering a complete review (and informed appraisals) of all leading models, interventions, and research.

A valuable resource for practitioners and students alike, the revised fourth edition of Fundamentals of Clinical Supervision includes a new emphasis on global contributions to the field and diversity as well as new material on technological advances, spirituality, impaired supervisees and boundary violations.

5.0 out of 5 stars THE supervision text, July 22, 2006
It is easy to see why Fundamentals of Clinical Supervision is so frequently referred to as THE supervision text. Bernard and Goodyear successfully synthesize a vast (and growing) amount of multidisciplinary supervision literature into a single comprehensive source. The book is well written, and organized such that it makes for easy referencing. Each of the 12 chapters presents an in-depth examination of both seminal and contemporary writing related to clinical supervision. While the `Supervisor's toolbox' serves as a welcome resource for graduate students and new supervisors, the thorough presentation of the most up-to-date theoretical and empirical work informs seasoned supervisors and educators alike.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good review of literature & studies on clinical supervision, August 23, 1998
By A Customer
Excellent resource for developing a clinical supervision training program. Provides a good review of literature & studies dealing with clinical supervision. The two day curriculum is helpful but uses too much video & doesn't tell you where to get a video to use in the training. Gives good basics to what is important in Clinical Supervision; chapter on ethics & legal issues whas somewhat unclear, but very important. Great appendix section. I was surprised that Dr. Larry Shulman wasn't referenced more. Overrall - great resource to have if you are doing clinical supervision.
