This book is pretty decent and helped me a lot in my ACCY121 Cost accounting class. I highly recommend this book because the examples and their references to Excel are very helpful in the learning process. The reading starts a little slow but if you are purchasing this book because your an accounting major then you have to struggle through it. This text definitely is helpful and a valuable investment. The only downside was that my professor didn't utilize the text as much and I felt that was a huge mistake on his part. This book helped me with my lessons tutoring other students.

I highly recommend purchasing this book but not from vendor ModTextbooks as I purchased a new book and they gave me a book that was clearly used. I am very disappointed in how they conducted this transaction with me. If I order a soda I don't want water and the same applies to if I purchase a new book I better get a new one not some old used one.

These text books are great. Yes it is used but it is in outstanding condition. I have only found one bit of pencil mark in the entire book. And it is much less than the college book store price. Excellent! I will definitely buy again

It's hard to separate this from the class that is being taught with it, but for the most part the math is very simple (for a trained engineer.) Simple enough to the point that I really only pay attention to the pages that give me definitions of what needs to be added to what.

On the other hand, Connect Plus, which comes with this book is very well done and may be my favorite way to do homework online.

This book is too wordy...redundant really. I was bored to death trying to read it for class. I felt like the authors just want students to have busy work In reading the book. I wouldn't recommend it as a paper weight.

I feel the authors are more concerned with showing off their big vocabularies (or ability to use a thesaurus) than aiding the student in grasping the concepts. Also, I don't believe that giving the ultra-fine details of a particular production process will assist in learning the basic concepts of cost accounting.

I honestly feel that the authors intentionally made this book hard to read and the concepts as hard to perceive.
Remember the basic rule for teaching...K.I.S.S.

It it a book that I use for accounting class. It is in a looses form , so I can take out individual chapters and read them for my assignments. Some chapters are long and I wish there were more examples

I found this book very easy to read and understand. Lanen, et al. did a great job with this text book. Cost Accounting can be tedious and tricky but the way the book breaks down the scenarios, details steps and procedures and follows-up newly learned material with practice sessions and reviews. The assignments are rather difficult but the chapter break-down helps to give a great summary of learned information in each chapter and assists with the lengthy assignments.
