4.0 out of 5 stars nice discussion of globalisation, September 9, 2005
The authors give an updated view of the basics about information systems (computers and networking, if you will). This field keeps changing so fast that new texts are continually needed.

The book ranges from descriptions of one computer to that of networks of computers. What you get from it will vary, depending on your needs. The discussion on globalisation is very topical. And throughout the book are questions that help raise awareness in the student about IS issues.

This review is from: Fundamentals of Information Systems (Paperback)
I recieved 4th edition, but requested a 5th edition. It is a required book for school, and I will be able to use it, but nonetheless, I still received the wrong edition

1.0 out of 5 stars 2011 Edition?, January 12, 2012
I was required to purchase this book for my intro to IS class. After reading the first two chapters is is very clear that this book (2011 edition) has not been updated! Chapter one mentions two companies that have been closed/bankrupt for years! Many of the illustrations and references are decades old. Very disappointed in the currency of this book given the LARGE PRICE tag! The publisher and author should be tarred and feathered for this atrocity of a book. This topic deserves all references and material to be within 2 years (at least). Especially when it can be issued as an e-book..don't cry me a river about publishing delays
