5.0 out of 5 stars The how to of conduction mediation for beginners!, January 2, 2012
This review is from: The Fundamentals of Family Mediation (SUNY Series (Suny Series, Transpersonal & Humanistic Psychology) (Paperback)
If you are looking for a book to tell you exactly what to do from the intake phone call all the way through each of the three main parts of a divorce mediation then this is the one.

Great for beginners this gives fundamental advice right down to who should answer your phone for intakes, how to handle the conversation, what to say, etc. The book also includes phraseology techniques for in session situations on how to redirect negative conversation directions. Basically, taking negative focus and turning it into a workable focal point for all those involved.

Basically, reading this book, when I was co-mediating for a much more experienced mediator of 15 years, I gave him a little insights on a session I sat in for and he was blown away but my insights coupled with the information from this book. he said, "sometimes you need a little refresher even after 15 years of experience".

Wonderfully helpful book. Definite value to have on your self as a mediator who is beginning on this noble journey.
