I am a nurse practitioner, new to naturopathic medicine, who is integrating it into my practice. I've been attending seminars and lectures and some of the information is so foreign to me (terminology included) it's hard to follow. This is an entirely different area of medicine from what I am used to. This book explains each disease starting with a quick 1-2 page pathophysiology of the condition, S/S, followed by labs to run and how to interpret them, followed by herbs as the medicine, nutritional deficiencies to look for, and a condition specific diet. The info on the herbs is very detailed yet simple to understand. They provide research studies backing up the treatments so we get our evidence based practice. There is a section on endocrine drug and herb interactions which talks about how drugs can cause micronutrient deficiency, for example metformin can cause B12 deficiency and B12 deficiency has it's own set of problems.
Then there is a quick refrence type of of guide which gives you a condensed view of the above along with the dosages of each herb.

I just got this book and this is a super quick review but so far I am impressed and learning so much. I am not an endocrine specialist yet everything is easily understood. As a matter of fact I am having a hard time putting the book down! I highly recommend it any western medicine trained practitioner venturing into hormone treatments, alternative medicine, etc.
