A great family and friends game.

The new incarnation comes in a much smaller box, and the game board now has several snap-together pieces.
Linda Wyeth
You do have to assemble this game, so that is different, but it plays just as fun.

I remember the first paddle pool, we had fun with it then. Some of the trouble with the first game have been fixed, like the paddle getting stuck at the side because the paddle was too long. The tabs that held paddle are gone, which is what broke off in our first game many years ago, and have been replaced with a snapping system. You do have to assemble this game, so that is different, but it plays just as fun. My brother and I are having great fun reliving the greatness of this game while we share it with our children who are have an equal amount of fun. If you want a lot of action and fun this is a must have game...I am so glad have it and that Amazon offers it at such a great price!

paddlepool is so much fun for the whole family. Everyone over the age of probably 5 can play. And it is so enjoyable that you will bring it out when ever you have people over. A truly good old fashioned action game. I love it so much I bought one for all the families in our extended family group.

My father (I am 26 yo) used to have a Paddle Pool game from when he was a kid. Over the years the paddles wore down and snapped. This was sad because we could not find this game anywhere for years. When i found it, I was completely elated and purchased immediately, without hesitation. My father's ols game was a one-piece board with 4 paddles and two balls. This game is 4 paddles, two balls, but 8 pieces to connect the board. Connecting the board is absolutely infuriating and it does not stay together even after the most deligent assembly. This is problematic because when it comes unhinged, or starts to come apart, the ball hits the ridge created by the board coming apart, the ball goes flying and you have to re-assemble the board.

I have considered Gorilla glue-ing the pieces together, but am too pissed-off at the quality of the product to waste my time doing so. This used to be an epically-fun game. Now, with modern companies cutting costs and replacing quality schematics with cheap plastic and ridiculous design to cut down on the size of the shipping box, the game is pretty much, entirely useless. If you have an old version of this game where the board is one solid piece, this board will infuriate you. If you want to give it a go, this game is very fun, but the design prevents it from being fun for long. Kids will easily break this design.

For those expecting something to rival the over-the-top toys out there today, keep looking. For those wanting a simple game that almost anyone can play, you've found it. I had this when I was a kid and forgot all about it until I saw it show up in a search. I used to play it with my cousins day after day (along with battle tops). I ordered it for my kids (8,6,4) and they love playing it. I would say the 4 year old's dexterity is not quite up to this game yet, but the 6 and 8 are. Simple, simple, simple, but that's what makes it great. It can be played with 2 to 4 people and even includes the fiberboard pieces to block off unused corners. For those who have never played, here are the simple rules. Keep the ball out of your pocket and don't hit it out of the playing area. That's it! It is about 2'x2' in size, just like the original. Some easy assembly required. If you're the kind of parent who gives your kid a toy to get them out of your hair, move on. If you like playing simple yet challenging games with your kids, get it.

My family played this game for hours in the 1980's. No tv, No computer, just the game and maybe some music playing in the background. A great family and friends game. The original game came with the game board already together. New version is not to hard to put together but does take some patience - but it is well worth it.

This is a game that I played growing up and wanted my kids to be able to play something that proceeded video games. When four people play, you can look in their eyes and have a lot of fun, but you must be in the same room. Fundex delivered what was promised. The game is great and I am so pleased to be able to have this game in my home once again. It's been since the 70's that I last played this game. So glad to have it.
