I purchased this game for my nearly 5 and 7 yr.old daughters for Christmas. I think it has a lot of potential to be a really fun and educational game, but as it currrently is packaged, the beginner version cannot be played correctly. The game comes with 101 letter tiles (cardboard not wooden as the amazon description states). We received all 101 letter tiles, however we still do not have the right number/combination of letters to complete the words on the begginer side of the game board. Clearly, there is no fun in playing a game only to realize that you can't even finish it. Don't know who tested this product, but I can't believe it passed even one trial round. It was clear very quickly that there weren't enough of the right letters. I have called and emailed Fundex asking for extra tiles or a full refund. I gave them a list of exactly how many tiles of each letter are needed to actually be able to play they game they make and sell. Seems like someone in their company should have figured that out long before it hit the shelves. I hope their customer service dept. will come through and send us the extra letters.

I also purchased this game and found the tiles inadequate to play the Beginner's Version. However, I called Fundex Games right away and received an entire new set of tiles within a few days. Customer Service (Shelly- she was great!) advised me that they did have a printing error on this new game...they didn't realize it until it hit the shelves. They were very nice and sent me the new tiles. They did say they are correcting the problem. The design is very cute, and my girls love this! Educational and fun.

This came comes with two sides to the board. One is older, and more like the original Scrabble game, minus the double and triple points. The flip side is for the younger player. On this side, words are already spelled out and the objective is to place your tiles over the preprinted letters to complete a word in letter order. This is great, except for the fact that the tiles that come with the game differ from the letter that are printed on the board. On the game that we purchased, over half of the words could not be completed because of the missing letters. I counted the tiles and we had the correct number of tiles. It is just a fundamental flaw with the game that you cannot successfully play it. Would not recommend!!!

wish I had read the reviews FIRST!!! played it today with my 6 year old and came to the quick realization that the game can't be completed with the amount of tiles given. will try to call company tomorrow to see about getting more.

the description states that it comes with wood tiles and a rack however it comes with neither. the tiles are cardboard and there is not a rack. not a factor though in my negative review. the cardboard pieces work fine, it just isn't described correctly so is inaccurate!

My almost 7 year old daughter received this as a gift. Initially, she enjoyed playing the beginner game, but there were not enough of the tiles needed to fill in all words. How do I teach her how to play, if we can't finish the game. If there are no "v's" "x's" or "z's" on the beginner game board, what good are those tiles to the beginner game? There also were not enough of the "i's" "r's" or several other letters. We removed some tiles from the pool and still could not complete the game. My daughter was very frustrated by the whole process. The beginner game needs to be revamped. Or just needs to have more tiles included. Very disappointing.

I wish I would have read these reviews before purchasing this game! As stated in many other reviews, there are not enough tiles to complete the beginner side of the game and it left our family very frustrated. To quote my 5 year old daughter "really? Really, people? Why wouldn't you have the right letters?" The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because the idea is great and a great way to introduce kids to scrabble. However, do NOT buy this game unless you enjoy playing a game you cannot finish.

My little girl is 8 and is smart as a tac when it comes to reading and words in general. So, when we got the game I knew she was going to love it so much. I love how the game can be played on both sides that way it is a option but also you are able to work your little one up to coming up with the words on her own. She has always wanted to play scrabble with my hubby and me but we knew it wasn't her age but with this she has so much fun and I feel it is just perfect for her. This will also be a great addition to sleep overs for her and her little friends to play.

Wonderful educational game. Kids love it. If you received a game missing tiles, call Fundex and they will send out a new complete set.

We of course have the same problem as the others -- the game cannot be played in its current form because the letter tiles do not match the letters on the board. Here's hoping we can get a new version that works, as my 5-year-old really enjoys it until we get to the frustrating end!

The same thing happened to us as in the first review. All 101 tiles were included but not enough of the correct letters to complete the beginner version of the game. The directions for the beginner version of the game state that the game ends when all 101 tiles have been played, however, many of the letters cannot even be used in the beginner version such as X, Z, Q, J, M, etc. This game would be fun if it could be completed. Somebody at Hasbro needs to sit down and actually test this game out before sending it to the stores or pay people like us to test it out for them. I'm requesting a refund!
