Nice weight and feel . More than a few dots are incompletely painted; an annoyance. Storage tin arrived collapsed at corner and bent on side; no damage to tiles.

I received this set of Fundex Double 12 Dominoes for Christmas, and I've had a mixed reaction to them. On the one hand, the dominoes have a wonderful weight and clack down on the table in a very satisfying manner. The tin is excellent for storing them because it isn't likely to tear or break like other products (vinyl cases in particular can be a problem for this number of relatively heavy dominoes). Although obviously mass-produced and not without small discrepancies (one domino had a small smear of paint on the side, another was colored incorrectly), these are high-quality dominoes.
That said, I've been left with a lackluster feeling for this set simply because although they are excellent at first glance, they simply are not designed as well as they could be. The best example of this is the coloring. Most of the brighter colors are used on lower numbers, which are very easy to distinguish visually by shape. Some of the higher numbers, whose grid patterns are much more difficult to distinguish between one another, share very similar colors (for instance, 9 is purple vs. and 11 is magenta). This means that you can't necessarily see in a quick glance what ends will match, and nothing is more annoying than needing to count the pips before you can play. Since the visual layout of the pips is so similar in the higher numbers and the color choices aren't chosen well for fast comprehension, using the set feels a little bit more tedious than it needs to be. I haven't found a great alternative, so I'd still recommend this set if only because of the quality of the tin and overall excellent feel of the dominoes. However, know that it won't be the easiest set to pick up and use across age groups.

I bought this set to replace a "Pavilion" brand dominoes set I had that was missing a domino. The old set had very bright, easily distinguishable colors. The colors on these dominoes are very muted and it's VERY hard to tell the different numbers apart...plus the dots are smaller than the old set. I sent them back and just ordered a set of "Cardinal" brand dominoes. Hopefully they'll work better than these.

Really enjoyed these dominos, so much that me and my wife brought them to Thailand to play with her family in the evenings. Ended up leaving them there with her family and I replaced them when we got back stateside.

My son wanted these for Christmas after using them at school for Math work. He has had a lot of fun playing with them and using them for Math games.
