My inlaws purchased this game, and for the last several times we went down to visit them, they kept asking if we wanted to play. Until last weekend, my answer was always "no thanks".
What a mistake. I am not a dominoes player (in fact I had never played), but this game became my one of my favorites. Talk about a fun, and frustrating game. One have one tile left (ok, I called them "chips") and BAM, someone plays a wild card, hits the button, and you sometimes get stuck picking up more tiles than you started the game with. Maybe this is typical in dominoes, but I can't help to believe the introduction of the single, double and triple wildfire tiles doesn't add a lot of excitement to the game. The only thing that is somewhat annoying is the honking fire engine after the siren when someone hits the button... Unless you're the one doing it!

We looked for this game after seeing it in Family Fun magazine. We like to take games on vacation for our evening family time or rainy days. Our kids (all under 12) loved the game and continue to ask to play it even though we've had it more than a year. Great family game!

Wildfire is a MUST HAVE. Friends of ours have its sister, Mexican Train, (which is also a great game, just different strategy) but we wanted something different to mix it up. We took it to a dinner party with two other couples, and both of them purchased their own games within the week (one who grimaced when we brought out "dominoes" to play anticipating boredom... she loved it the most). When we played it with the owners of Mexican Train, they purchased Wildfire through amazon that same night to have both games! Another couple bought it for their early school aged daughters because of the ease of play for them using the different color codes for each number (versus all same color dominoes). Wildfire uses its own dominoes (up to double nines) and each number is a different color (threes are pink, eights are green..) Hard to keep a strategy in this game as every single play can completely change the direction... Definitely can play with two people, but it gets more fun with more. Just be prepared ladies, the "boys" like to press the campfire to hear the firetrucks in the background! Great fun...

I had just rec'd this game a few days ago and got to try it out on the ladies whom I share game night with every Friday night. We had a blast! The challenge is definitely the hub and those wildfires that keep spreading. Lots of action and just when you think you're about to win, someone can instantly change the game on you by starting a wildfire. You'll be hooked! The dominos have a good feel to them and the brightly colored pips make it so much easier to match up to. Don't hesitate because you too will be hooked! Fun for all ages.
