We bought this game for the family at Christmas thinking we and our two boys (5 & 9) would enjoy it. It has some major liabilities that make me say don't bother. First liability: The instructions are SO complex - it took me about 1 full hour to read and figure out what to do. The kids were so bored waiting that by the time I was ready to start they were not even interested any more. Second, the game involves laying down little cardboard yellow-brick-road pieces as you play. The trouble here is that the pieces do not secure to the board or each other and so they are constantly knocked out of place either by the roll of the dice or a slight bump of the board. I spent the entire time trying to replace bumped pieces (while trying not to get annoyed at my kids for bumping.) Overall - a big hassle to figure out and irritating to try and play. In an effort to salvage the game I will glue the brick-road pieces to the board and just eliminate that step of the game (which seems pretty unnecessary anyway). But my advice? Skip it.

I bought this Oz board game to add to my collection, while at the same time thinking it would be fun to play with the grandchildren. I wish I would have listened to the other reviews. Not only was it a pricey game, but a pain to assemble/play as well. Well, not all was lost, it (the box) looks nice with my other Oz collectables!

Terrible! Confusing, convoluted instruction manual. Game objective unclear. Yellow Brick Road game pieces difficult to position correctly. The best element are the cute figures of Dorothy and her three pals -- which, by the way, limits the number of players to four! Fail.

My son was looking for Wizard of Oz items for his girlfriend for Christmas and I told him to check amazon. He found several items and she loved everyone he bought.
