5.0 out of 5 stars This is a DVD, not a CD. It's a movie., May 13, 2003

This review is from: Funding (DVD)
Funding is great! It's a movie, not an album, although there is a CD of the soundtrack. The movie is like a feature-length music video, with beautiful images. Four characters give their views of their lives in New York -- their disappointments and their hopes. The four characters are played by Veanne Cox, the snooty lawyer in Erin Brokavich; Brazilian actress Susana Ribeiro; Mikel Rouse, the composer of the score and director of the film; and Lisa Boudreau, dancer with Merce Cunningham Dance Company and also Rouse's real-life wife. Boudreau's section of the film is narrated by a male French voice. The rest of the characters narrate their own sections; Ribeiro narrates in Portuguese. All characters' narratives are subtitled in English, and the music, which runs throughout, is sung in English. Funding is not the usual feature film with a story. It is much more interesting.
